Lately, Sebastian had been treating her like a complete stranger.
Before, he would text her constantly, checking in on her health and asking about the baby.
Now?
If she didn't reach out first, he could easily go three days without saying a word to her.
Sienna knew exactly why. It was all because of Victoria's ruined face.
Victoria had definitely been poisoning Sebastian against her behind closed doors.
"Sebastian." Sienna's voice trembled with perfectly calculated vulnerability. "Are you... upset with me?"
Sebastian glanced at her but said nothing.
"I know what happened to your mother is terrible, and I feel so incredibly guilty. I haven't been able to sleep for nights, I just..."
Tears instantly welled up in her eyes, threatening to spill over. "I didn't want this to happen. I researched the ingredients, I even had friends try it first, and it was perfectly safe. I have no idea how it went so wrong..."
Honestly, Sienna had enough theatrical talent to win an Oscar. The tears came on command.
Sebastian pinched the bridge of his nose.
"I didn't say it was your fault."
"Then why are you treating me so coldly?" The tears finally spilled down her cheeks. "You barely look at me anymore, and you ignore half my texts..."
Sebastian stayed quiet for a long moment.
"I've been slammed with work."
"You were always slammed with work, but you always found time for me before," Sienna choked out through her sobs. "Sebastian, I know she's furious with me, but I swear I didn't do it on purpose. I'd gladly trade my own face if it meant she could heal faster..."
"Alright, stop crying. It's not good for the baby," Sebastian's tone finally softened a fraction.
He pulled a tissue from the box and handed it to her.
Taking the tissue, Sienna dabbed delicately at her eyes and looked up at him with a heart-wrenching, pitiful expression.
"You won't push me away anymore, right?"
Staring at her tear-stained face, Sebastian's resolve crumbled just a bit.
At the end of the day, she was carrying his child.
And realistically, there was no solid proof that she had sabotaged the skincare on purpose.
Maybe it really had just been a freak accident.
"I'm not pushing you away," Sebastian sighed, his voice gentler now. "It's just been a chaotic week, and I'm stressed. It has nothing to do with you."
Sienna gave a watery, relieved smile. "Thank goodness. Then please, finish your soup. I made it specially to help keep your strength up."
