It was such a coincidence that he happened to have a business dinner here today as well.
Seraphina picked up her phone, planning to send a text to thank him. Right then, a message popped up on her screen.
"Eat up. Order whatever you like, I'll have Christian put it on my tab."
Looking at the screen, her lips curved into a smile. "I've had plenty."
He knew she was here and went out of his way to send her food?
Seraphina lowered her eyelashes as an indescribable ripple of warmth spread through her chest.
She and Lucian were in a contract marriage; logically, he didn't need to put on such an elaborate show for her.
Yet he had gone ahead and done it anyway, executing it so smoothly that no one could find a single flaw.

In the VIP room, Christian returned to Lucian's side and reported in a low voice, "Mr. Langford, the dishes have been delivered. Your wife seems to be... in a good mood."
Lucian gave a curt nod.
"By the way," Christian added, "there's a woman in a red dress who was being quite hostile toward your wife. Apparently, they've had friction since college."
Lucian's gaze flicked up, his tone betraying no emotion. "What's her name?"
"I think her name is Miranda Sinclair. Her husband is a mid-level manager at our company, though I didn't catch his name."
Lucian didn't say anything else, merely tapping his long fingers lightly against the table.
Christian understood the silent cue and said no more.
The boss's meaning was crystal clear—he was going to remember this.
As for how he would handle it, that remained to be seen.
...
The private room next door had grown lively again, with everyone thoroughly enjoying the feast.
Naturally, this led to them putting Miranda on an even higher pedestal.
"Miranda, you're so lucky to have married such a great guy."
"Yeah, don't forget about your old classmates when you guys hit the big time."
Miranda grinned so widely her cheeks hurt.
She absolutely loved being the center of attention.
Just then, the door to the room was suddenly pushed open from the outside.
