My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 187

Sebastian remained dead silent on the other end of the line for a long time.

Refusing to accept defeat, he practically begged, "Sera, please... just for the sake of what we used to have, can't you do this?"

Listening from inside, Little Bean scoffed loudly. *How does this absolute jerk have the nerve to bring up the past?! He should consider himself lucky you aren't tracking him down to beat him up!*

Seraphina remained utterly silent.

Sebastian took a deep breath, fighting to keep his rising frustration in check. "Fine. Forget I brought up the patent."

"I already have."

"Then... I'll let you go."

"Goodbye."

Seraphina ended the call and tossed her phone onto the table.

She knew Sebastian Sullivan entirely too well.

He was never the type to just walk away.

He would undoubtedly find another angle to get his hands on the tech.

She just didn't know what kind of dirty trick he would try next.

At the Sullivan Residence.

Sebastian hurled his phone onto the plush sofa, collapsing into the cushions and rubbing his temples in exhaustion.

Victoria Sullivan walked down the grand staircase. Seeing her son looking so utterly defeated, she asked, "What happened?"

"The patent deal. It's a bust."

Victoria's brow furrowed sharply. "She refused?"

"Yeah."

"She completely shut you down before you even named a price?"

Sebastian dragged a hand down his face, groaning in sheer frustration. "She said she doesn't need our money."

Victoria let out a bitter, mocking laugh. "Well, naturally. She joined the Langford family. Why would she need our money?"

She glided over and took a seat opposite him, lowering her voice conspiratorially.

"Sebastian, listen to me. This patent is life or death for our family. If we don't secure that core tech, not only does the whole project collapse, but we'll be buried under mountains of breach-of-contract penalties."

Sebastian peeled his eyes open. "I know."

"If you know, then use your head and find another way," Victoria pressed.

"You can't strong-arm a woman like her. You have to change your approach."
