My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 228

"What are you talking about? Aside from your belly, there's literally not an ounce of fat on you," Tiffany scoffed, hooking her arm through hers. "God, if I ever get knocked up, I pray I get your genetics. All baby, zero extra pounds."

That drew a laugh out of Seraphina. "Come on, let's go inside."

The two strolled into the sprawling luxury complex, heading straight for the footwear boutiques on the second floor.

Since she was strictly banned from stilettos right now and finding cute flats was always a nightmare, the massive selection at this mall was a lifesaver. An eager sales associate quickly pulled several pairs for her to try on.

Tiffany lounged on a velvet settee, watching her test them out. "Sera, did you catch the news?"

Slipping her foot into an ivory ballet flat, she answered without looking up, "You mean the contract the Monroes signed with the Sullivans?"

"Yeah." Tiffany frowned. "What the hell is Melody thinking? She's basically serving Sebastian a comeback on a silver platter."

She stood up, checking her reflection in the floor mirror. They looked chic enough. Turning to the associate, she said, "I'll take this pair."

The woman beamed and hurried off to ring up the purchase.

Only then did she turn her attention back to her friend. Her voice was steady and unbothered. "She can try to hand him a comeback, but that implies he's actually capable of bouncing back in the first place."

Tiffany paused. "What does that mean?"

"His company's crisis isn't just the patent lawsuit anymore. It's the catastrophic fallout from his real estate investment. He poured billions into that property, and with the new zoning laws, that land is as good as worthless. How on earth is he going to plug a multi-billion-dollar hole?"

Anyone with a brain could see the writing on the wall. She truly had no idea what was going through Melody's head.

If the woman really thought throwing away a fortune was a smart way to settle a petty rivalry, then she was incredibly naive.

Every single business decision was supposed to be driven by profit margins, not personal vendettas.

Tiffany nodded in slow realization.
