Her eyes welled with tears. "Mom, can you please not say things like that?"
Even though it was the truth, it hurt too much.
Seeing her daughter's teary eyes, Zelda's heart softened slightly, and her tone grew gentler.
"Sienna, Mom is just looking out for you. If you make yourself so easily available, men won't value you."
Sienna lowered her head, the tears finally spilling over.
She knew her mother was right, but she just couldn't help it.
She was terrified that if she didn't take the initiative, Sebastian would forget about her entirely.
Zelda stood up and gently patted her shoulder. "Starting tomorrow, don't go to the Sullivan Group anymore."
Sienna looked up. "Why?"
"The more you chase him, the more he'll hide from you." Zelda's tone was absolute. "Why don't you try giving him the cold shoulder for a few days? See if he comes looking for you on his own."
Sienna bit her lip, mulling it over, and finally nodded.
She wanted to see if Sebastian truly had no place for her in his heart anymore.
Later that day.
When Seraphina woke up, Lucian had already left for the office.
She finished breakfast, wondering how she would spend her day.
Since she was in her third trimester, her body felt incredibly heavy.
She rarely went into the office anymore.
With professional managers running the Simmons Corporation, everything was relatively stable.
This gave Seraphina peace of mind to stay home and focus on resting for the baby.
Just then, her phone rang.
It was an unknown number.
She answered it, and a woman's voice came through, sounding urgent and emotional.
