My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 255

Seeing Melody's expression, Tiffany felt an immense surge of satisfaction and almost laughed out loud.

She leaned in close to Seraphina's ear and whispered, "Did you see that? Melody's face is practically green."

Seraphina gave her a light pinch. "Stop it."

"I'm serious," Tiffany kept her voice low. "Look at her; she looks like she just swallowed a bug. It's hilarious."

Seraphina shook her head helplessly, not taking the bait.

She didn't want to stoop to Melody's level, though she had to admit that Elder Harrison's words had filled her heart with a deep sense of warmth.

In this world, kindness was always met with tenderness in the end.

Once the banquet officially started, Gillian arranged for Seraphina to sit at a table right next to the main one, making it easier to look after her.

Lucian was originally seated at the men's table, but given Seraphina's condition, he spoke to Gillian and simply moved his chair over to sit right beside his wife.

The men at the main table teased him for being entirely whipped by his wife, but he brushed it off with a calm, "It's my duty."

Elder Harrison looked at Lucian, his eyes shining with approval. "Lucian is a good man. He treats his wife well and takes his responsibilities seriously."

Lucian gave a slight nod. "You flatter me, Elder Harrison."

Sitting next to him, Seraphina listened to the exchange, the tips of her ears flushing pink.

She lowered her eyelashes, pretending to focus intently on her soup, though she couldn't stop her lips from curving upward.

Little Bean kicked her from inside. "Mommy, Daddy is getting praised!"

Seraphina smiled inwardly. "You heard that?"

"Yeah!" Little Bean said in his sweet, milky voice. "This old gentleman is really nice, not like that weird lady from earlier."

Seraphina gently stroked her belly, not explaining further.

A child's world was wonderfully simple; they instinctively knew the difference between kindness and malice.

Halfway through the banquet, Yolanda walked over with a wine glass in hand and stopped next to Seraphina.

"Ms. Simmons, I've heard a lot about you. I'm Yolanda, Gillian's sister."
