Sebastian stared at Sienna, hesitating for a long moment before saying anything.
There was a time when her tears would have torn at his heart, but now, he only felt a profound sense of exhaustion and disgust.
Yolanda let out a soft scoff and glanced at him. "Looks like even you can't buy that."
Seraphina flipped on her phone's flashlight and stepped up to the painting. "Since you can't find it, I'll help you."
Sienna's expression twisted in panic. "You can't touch my painting!"
Seraphina looked at the organizer. "Am I permitted to use a light on it?"
The man wiped a bead of sweat from his temple. "As long as you don't physically touch the piece, it's fine."
The beam of light hit the bottom right corner of the canvas, but nothing happened. Evie immediately crowed, "See? I told you she was lying."
Seraphina ignored her, smoothly panning her phone across the canvas.
A second later, two fluorescent letters glowed vividly in the dead center of the painting: LL.
The whispers in the exhibition hall died instantly. Every single pair of eyes was glued to those two glowing letters.
The people who had been defending Sienna snapped their mouths shut, and the color slowly drained from Evie's face.
Gripping the edge of the display stand, Sienna blurted out, "She set me up."
Seraphina clicked off her flashlight. "Who set you up?"
Realizing her slip, Sienna desperately backpedaled. "I mean you set me up! You deliberately orchestrated this entire thing just to humiliate me!"
Seraphina let out a cold laugh. "I orchestrated you stealing someone else's work?"
Sienna was struck dumb.
Melody glared at her, nothing but pure revulsion in her eyes.
Yolanda looked sideways at Sebastian. "You certainly had unique tastes in the past, Sebastian."
Sebastian's face was livid. "Don't make jokes at my expense, Yolanda."
Yolanda pulled her gaze away and fell silent.
Hearing Sebastian's voice was like finding a lifeline. Sienna whipped around to face him. "Sebastian, you have to believe me. I was conned! I swear I had no idea there was anything wrong with this painting."
Sebastian didn't move an inch.
Sienna's sobs grew more frantic. "You know me. You know I would never do something like this."
