"What about Melody Monroe? Did she admit to being the hero?" Seraphina Simmons asked.
Last night at the hospital, Melody hadn't directly claimed the title for herself.
But if she had actually confessed to it on camera and posted it online, Seraphina wouldn't just have to clear her own name this time—she would have to take Melody down once and for all.
Lucian Langford shook his head.
"No. She never publicly claimed to have rescued anyone. It was entirely fueled by internet rumors."
Seraphina fell silent.
After a moment, a smile graced her lips. "This is getting more interesting by the minute."
Lucian squeezed her hand. "Don't worry. I'll take care of it for you."
She smiled softly. "It's fine. I'm not worried."
Lucian's phone suddenly rang.
He glanced at the screen. It was Eleanor Langford.
"Grandma Eleanor?"
"Lucian, are you free today? Come home for dinner." Eleanor paused before adding, "Are Seraphina and Hudson available?"
He had the phone on speaker, so Seraphina heard every word.
She gave him a nod.
Lucian then replied to his grandmother, "Alright, we'll all come over."
"Great, come early," Eleanor said with a warm laugh. "I miss my Little Bean."
He chuckled. "Will do."
"Let's go, then," Seraphina said.
She went upstairs to change into a nice dress before heading back down.
The family set off and arrived at Langford Manor.
As soon as Eleanor saw them, she hurried over with a beaming smile, reaching out to take Little Bean.
The baby immediately blew a tiny bubble, launching a fresh round of sheer cuteness at the older woman.
Eleanor's eyes crinkled into delighted crescents, her heart thoroughly melting.
