Corvin had been gone for more than half an hour. When he returned, the smile on his face was impossible to hide.

“Emma,” he said, running straight over to Emma and holding up a pink energy stone.

“Look at the energy stone I found. Isn’t it beautiful?” The dreamy pink stone was translucent as it sparkled stunningly like a crystal.

“It’s beautiful.” Emma nodded, feeling the strong energy flowing from it.

Corvin grinned at her. “Emma, when we get back to Central Planet, I’ll make you a special pink mech using this stone.”

“Looking forward to it.” Emma smiled and nodded.

In truth, Corvin had already made her many mechs before. But sadly, the last time the manor was destroyed by Lucien, all those mechs were lost too.

With Corvin back and Emma rested, the group soon returned to the starrail.

By the time they arrived, it was already 11 p.m. After being out for so long, Emma was exhausted.

Tonight, Silas was supposed to stay with her, but he had first gone to take care of Remy and hadn’t come over yet. Emma washed up on her own and got into bed.

In Silas‘ room, Remy stood on the bed, bare–bottomed, while looking unhappy.

“I want to sleep with Mommy tonight,” Remy said.

He was still a newly awakened cub. As long as Emma didn’t mind, he could sleep with her. Remy was sure she wouldn’t object. After all, in her memories, children his age on Earth always slept with their mothers.

Silas dressed him quietly. “I’m staying with your mother tonight. You’ll have to sleep on your own,” he said firmly, his expression cold.

Now that he’d awakened, Remy was able to sleep by himself. Still, he was unhappy. “I don’t want to! I want to sleep with Mommy!” Remy continued to protest, even trying to threaten Silas.

“Daddy, if you don’t let me sleep with Mommy tonight, I’ll tell her that you’re bullying me!”

Back at the underground auction, he had already created an opportunity for Silas. How could he be so greedy as to want more?

Silas was speechless, looking at his son standing there with hands on his hips, not one to be messed with. For a moment, he couldn’t help but feel both amused and exasperated.

Silas took a deep breath, forcing himself not to put a hand on Remy’s bottom. He wanted to be a gentle father. While keeping his expression kind, he looked at Remy and softened his voice, trying to reason with him.

“Remy, I want you to sleep with Mommy too. But she’s been out all day and is very tired. She needs proper rest. I’m only afraid you’ll disturb her if you spend the night together. Next time, alright?”

His reasoning was perfectly sound, but Remy refused to listen. He was a little one without much understanding, so how could he comprehend all that?

He puffed out his little chest and argued, “No! I sleep perfectly fine, and I’m sure I won’t disturb her. You’re the one who wakes her up!”

Remy knew what his father was thinking.

Silas‘ temples throbbed, and he forced himself not to punish the child. He needed to be gentle with him. While pressing his lips together, he quickly switched tactics. Since reasoning didn’t work, he’d put on a pity act.

“Remy…” At once, Silas‘ voice was laced with a hint of sadness. Those deep blue eyes, identical to Remy’s, even carried a hint of grievance. “I haven’t had much time alone with Mommy for a long time now. You’d understand, wouldn’t you?”

As he spoke, he reached out, wanting to pull up Remy’s little pants. Remy dodged quickly, twisting his little bottom and slipping out of Silas‘ reach.

“You’re lying. Whenever I’m asleep, I get a whiff of Mommy’s scent. That means you’re usually with her.” Even if he was his real daddy, Remy wouldn’t fall for that.

Silas casually tossed the toddler pants in his hand aside and looked down at his disobedient son on the bed.
