“I really like it.” Emma took another sip of the drink, then lifted the cup to Malrik’s lips. “It tastes great. Have a sip too.”
Standing beside Calum, Corvin pressed his lips together, full of envy. “I used to think Silas was the smooth one. Now I think Malrik’s even noother.”
Silas flirted openly with Emma. Malrik, on the other hand, could sweep all her attention toward him with the smallest gesture.
Calum was jealous enough to explode. Enchanters sure are the best at charming a female.
He drew in a deep breath, then stepped in front of Emma and bent down slightly, speaking softly. “I already contacted Voss. He’ll be waiting for us at the entrance. Emy, is there anything you want? I can have him prepare it in advance.”
“I don’t really want anything in particular.”
Emma didn’t lack anything these days, and she had never been someone with strong shopping urges.
“Let’s just look around. If I see something I like, I’ll buy it.”
“Okay.” Calum nodded with a smile.
At the entrance of Nexus Prime Tech, Damian had been waiting impatiently since early morning, knowing Emma would be visiting from Calum’s text the day before.
“Mr. Voss, you’ve been standing at the door for an hour already. Why don’t you wait inside?” his assistant whispered, watching Damian stand there like a statue, longing for his beloved’s
return.
“No.” Damian shook his head. “She rarely comes here. I want her to see me the moment she gets off the airship.”

The rising him of an airship engine echoed ovetheart Dansian lifted his gaze to the sky and saw a dark airship descending. His eyes lit up at once–like a traveler stumbling upon an omis after wandering endlessly through the desert, oh night sky suddenly bursting into a field of stars. Every last spark of light was reflected in his eyes.
“She’s here!”
Damian straightened his already immaculate clothes and stepped forward quickly. He couldn’t stop the upward curve of his lips–just seeing Emma, even knowing he had no chance with her anymore, was enough to fill him with uncontrollable joy.
The airship landed smoothly. The click of the opening door might as well have been the most beautiful music in the world to him.
Emma appeared at the entrance. As she approached, Damian’s fingers curled tightly with nervous anticipation. “Welcome to NexusPrime Tech!”
Huntress.
He only dared to use that title in his mind.
“Thank you for taking care of us today.” She greeted him politely.
The distant tone stabbed straight into Damian’s chest. He’d known to expect her distance, but knowing didn’t make experiencing it any easier. Still, he hid it perfectly–no one noticed the flicker of pain.
Dahlia’s airship soon landed beside Emma’s.
Dahlia stepped out with Lily and her mates, then walked over cheerfully. “Emma, your airship sure is the most advanced in the Empire. Mine took off first, yet you arrived before me. I even noticed you slowed down halfway to wait for us.”
