Chapter 601 Let’s Talk
Chapter 601 Let’s Talk
He’d always figured Kieran was the most well–behaved one in the house. The most innocent.
He never saw this coming.
Bonding with Emma in secret–and somehow helping her rank up?
A violent wave slammed into the shoreline with a thunderous roar.
Water burst upward as Kieran rose out of the sea.
He strolled across the surface like it was glass. Calm. Smooth. Stopped right in front of Corvin with a smile.
“Corvin, what’s going on?”
His voice was soft. Face looked angelic.
Not a single crack.

Corvin scanned him head to toe, eyes narrowing, then leaned in and muttered by his ear. “Didn’t see that coming. You really were hiding something deep.”
“What?”
Kieran blinked, totally lost.
“You had a way to make Emma rank up. Why didn’t you say anything?”
Kieran gave a faint smile.
“You never asked.”
Corvin froze.
He had nothing to say.
“That why you came here?”
Kieran tilted his head.
“Not just that.”
Corvin dropped his voice. “I wanted to know if there’s anything else that could help Emma rank up. Even if I’ve gotta use my own ability energy.”
He wanted to help Emma rank up too.
Maybe she’d like him more.
Kieran shook his head.
“That only works the first time you bond. After that, it stops working.”

“Seriously?”
Corvin’s shoulders sagged. “There’s no other way?”
Kieran shook his head again.
“Nope.”
“Then I’ll let you rest.”
Corvin sighed, sounding defeated.
“Get some sleep. I’ll head out.”
Kieran noticed the disappointment in his face and paused.
“Corvin, Ms. Tibarn really likes you. Even if you never help her rank up, she still likes you.”
“Of course I know that.”
Corvin pressed his lips together. His voice dropped low, a little bitter.
“That’s exactly why I want to do more for her.”
The next morning came.
Emma stepped out of her room.
She walked straight to Lucien’s.
Every room in the house had biometric access.
The second she approached, the scanner read her and opened the door.
She could walk into anyone’s room freely.
Even Lucien’s, Silas‘, or Calum’s study rooms with top–level files weren’t restricted to her.
But she never entered without a reason.
She only ever went in when she needed to talk. Or if they were already inside.
She stepped into Lucien’s suite.
She headed for his bedroom.
“Lucien, are you up?”
She tapped the light panel. The door unlocked with a soft mechanical click.
“I’m coming in!”
The door swung open.

Inside the room, a Phoenix was curled near the foot of the bed. His feathers gleamed like molten scarlet silk.
His fiery red plumage glowed with a slick, golden sheen.
He looked radiant.
Nothing like the fluffy coal–black chick from before.
The second he heard her voice, his half–shut golden eyes snapped open and locked on her.
“Emma, what’re you doing here?”
“I came to watch you hatch the babies.”
Emma climbed up onto the bed and ran her fingers through his feathers.
“Lucien, your plumage is gorgeous.”
“You like it?”
Lucien asked.
She couldn’t see his face in beast form, but his voice was definitely smiling.
“Love it. It’s stunning.”
She said it without a second thought.
“Where’re the eggs?”
Emma looked around.
Lucien shifted his wing.
Two fiery red eggs were tucked beneath it. Still and glowing with heat.
