After lunch was ready, Aria came to call her.

Calum took the lightcore from Emma’s hand and pulled her back into his embrace.

“Edric and the others haven’t finished lunch yet. Let’s sleep a little longer. When lunch is ready, I’ll carry you downstairs. I promise I won’t keep you from the Celestara Gala.”

After last night, Calum was genuinely worried that Emma hadn’t slept enough. What if she went out in the afternoon and got too sleepy? By then, she definitely wouldn’t want to come back.

Just as Emma was about to push him away, Calum’s lightcore buzzed. He picked it up and opened it.

Emma leaned over to take a look, realizing it was a message from Kieran. “Lunch is almost ready. Could get her down here?”

After reading Kieran’s message, Emma immediately sat up.

“Lunch is ready. Let’s get up quickly and go downstairs to eat.”

She was afraid that if she stayed in bed any longer, she wouldn’t get up at all.

Then he glanced back toward the elevator doors. “Where’s Calum? Why didn’t he come down with you?”

“He’s busy,” Emma replied, making sure not to cause the same kind of awkward misunderstanding as before when she had talked about Lucien. She explained quickly, “I asked him to help me tidy up the room. He’ll come down soon.”

“I see.” Corvin nodded and quickly pulled up his lightcore.

He showed Emma the photos he had taken of Calum last night.

‘Emma, I picked a few outfits this morning. Which one looks best?” The styles Corvin picked today were similar to the suit style Calum had worn to her room last night.

Emma first gave him a once–over, then looked at him with a slightly suspicious expression.

‘Since when did you suddenly start liking suits? I remember you said before that you hated both suits and your work uniform.”

Corvin looked down, a faint blush spreading across his face.

‘Well, times change. Last night, I saw Calum wearing a suit going to your room. You didn’t kick him out, so I thought you liked it.”
