Chapter 638 Go See Him Yourself
“We’ll help you.”
Last night had been the perfect opportunity, and yet Drake hadn’t chosen to bond with her.
Instead, he left and returned to the Three Domains.
So he was still the same male after all.
The one whose heart was set on conquering the stars.

In Aquadome.
Drake looked at Emma’s reply and let out a faint, quiet laugh.
So this is where our fate ended.
Maybe… that is for the best.
“Mr. Smith, it’s time for your medicine.”
Sebastian entered carrying a bowl of dark, bitter–looking broth. His eyes were filled with worry as he approached.
Drake took the bowl, frowned slightly, and downed it in one go before handing it back.
“What happened stays between us,” he said coldly. “No one else can know.”
Sebastian nodded. “Understood.”
But as he took the empty bowl, he couldn’t help himself.
“Mr. Smith, are you truly content to return to the Aquadome like this? You gave so much for Ms. Emma Tibarn. You lost your True Dragon Blood. Your level dropped to nine. You-“:
“This was my decision. It has nothing to do with her.” Drake’s gaze sharpened. “If I lose a level, I’ll climb back up. Don’t speak out of
turn.”
Sebastian lowered his eyes, but inwardly he sighed.
Climb back up? If only it were that simple.
Losing a level was one thing.
But losing True Dragon Blood was losing half a life.
Whether he would even survive this decline was uncertain, let alone regain his strength.
Back at the castle.
After breakfast, Emma played with Remy for a while before checking on the two eggs.

Aria and Laura had both messaged her earlier.
They’d gotten separated in the crowd too, and had asked if she’d run into any danger.
Emma hadn’t told them what really happened. She didn’t want them worrying.
But as she stared at the eggs, her thoughts kept drifting back to last night.

Lucien was sitting nearby, reading. When he noticed her zoning out yet again, he closed his book and pulled her onto his lap.
“Emma,” he said gently, “that’s the fifth time you’ve drifted off.”
“Has it?” she blinked.
“Yes,” he answered firmly. “Still thinking about last night?”
He paused, watching her carefully. “Or are you thinking about Drake?”
“No,” she denied it instantly.
Lucien smiled faintly and wrapped his arms around her. “All right. Then tell me what are you thinking about?”
Emma pressed her lips together. “I was just wondering, what kind of medicine did Drake give me last night? If he had something like that, why didn’t he use it sooner?”
She couldn’t shake the feeling that something else had happened–something she didn’t remember.
And last night had been such a clear opportunity, yet he hadn’t bonded with her.
She wasn’t so lacking in charm that he’d felt nothing.
Which meant he must have struggled, and ultimately chosen not to take advantage.
The only explanation was that Drake’s character was that solid.
Lucien was quiet for a moment before speaking. “If you want to know, why not ask him directly?”
‘I did.”
She looked frustrated.
‘I messaged him. Asked what he gave me. He hasn’t replied.”
She had even tried calling, but nothing.
Worried something might be wrong, she’d called Thero.
Thero hadn’t been with Drake but gave her Sebastian’s contact instead.
She’d called Sebastian.
He’d said Drake was resting, that everything was fine, and that they were already aboard a warship heading back to Aquadome.
From Sebastian’s tone, it sounded like Drake didn’t plan to contact her again.

If he didn’t want to stay in touch, she couldn’t exactly chase after him.
Still, something didn’t sit right.
Lucien sighed. “You’re worried about him.”
She didn’t answer.
Which was answer enough.
She just had this feeling that last night hadn’t been that simple.
She needed to see him once more to be sure.

“I’ll go with you,” Lucien said. “His warship shouldn’t have left Central Planet’s orbit for long. If we leave now, we can catch up quickly.”
He brushed her hair back gently.
“It’s better than watching you sit here distracted. Go see him yourself. Then you can put your mind at ease.”
If something truly had happened to Drake, and she only learned later, she would blame herself forever.
He wouldn’t let that happen.
Emma hugged him tightly. “Lucien, you’re the best.”
He chuckled softly.
“I can afford to be generous.” His voice lowered. “Because I know, even if you asked Drake to stay… it wouldn’t threaten me.”
Drake had already lived under the same roof for quite a while.
One more or one less, he genuinely didn’t care.
But only for Drake.
If it were anyone else, he wouldn’t agree so easily.
