Chapter 645 The Truth Behind the True Dragon Blood
Chapter 645 The Truth Behind the True Dragon Blood
One area was for his daily living, and another looked like a small private clinic.
The third was a large laboratory.
The entire room was decorated in light tones, mostly white.
It was spotless.
At a glance, it was obvious the owner had a serious obsession with cleanliness.
Emma almost didn’t dare to step inside, for she was afraid she might dirty the room.

Alaric saw her standing at the door, hesitating. He looked up and pressed a hand to his forehead, feeling rather appalled.
“Dang it, Silas… I only said I wanted the room in lighter colors. He actually made it completely white.”
Not only was Emma hesitant to enter–even Alaric himself felt a bit unsure. Silas had definitely done this on purpose.
“Emma, let’s go in first. Tomorrow, I’ll get the place repainted. And maybe add a few nice exotic plants.”
Emma nodded and followed him inside. Alaric opened his lightcore and looked at the room layout Silas had sent him earlier. He quickly found the examination room.
“Sit for a moment, Emma. I’ll adjust the equipment.”
All the machines were brand new, so they needed calibration before use.
Emma watched him with a smile in her eyes. Alaric was already handsome. When he worked seriously, he looked even better. After quickly finishing the setup, Alaric turned and smiled at her.
“Emma, is there something on my face? Why are you staring at me like that?”
Emma reached out and touched his face. “I was looking because you’re so handsome.”
Alaric caught her hand before she could pull it back. His eyes seemed to shimmer like starlight, and his smile was dazzling.
“You have good taste.”
This left her speechless. Did he actually praise himself?
Alaric stared at Emma’s lips. He held himself back again and again before stopping himself from leaning in to kiss her.
“Emma, when you praise me like that, I really want to pin you down right here. But checking your body is more important right now.”
After saying that, Alaric straightened up, adjusted the equipment, and began examining her.
Emma looked at him suspiciously. “Ever since you got back, you’ve been saying you want to check my body. You’re in such a hurry. Did something happen to me?”
Alaric was such a skilled doctor. Had he noticed something wrong the moment he came back? Was that why he was so eager to

examine her?

“No.” Alaric placed a sensor against the inside of her wrist and explained, “So far, your body seems fine. But during the Celestara Gala, you were drugged. Even though Drake used his True Dragon Blood to neutralize it and nothing happened, I’m still not completely at ease. You’re human, but Drake gave you his True Dragon Blood. I’m worried it might have other effects on you. That’s why I need to check you thoroughly before I can feel reassured.”
“True Dragon Blood?” Emma looked at the constantly flashing data on the monitor and turned to Alaric in confusion.
“Is that what Drake meant by the Drakonid’s holy medicine?”
Drake had only told her that he used the Drakonid’s holy medicine to help her recover. He never said what that holy medicine actually was.
Hearing her question, Alaric raised an eyebrow. “He told you it was the Drakonid’s holy medicine?”
“Yeah.” Emma nodded and opened her lightcore, showing Alaric the message Drake had sent her that morning.
“He said he used the Drakonid’s holy medicine to help me. But he didn’t say exactly what it was.”
Now, hearing Alaric say it out loud, Emma was certain that the medicine Drake mentioned was the True Dragon Blood.
“That’s not any kind of holy medicine,” Alaric explained calmly.
He had anticipated this.
Tonight, Emma probably wouldn’t have time to form a bond with Kieran.
Now that she knew about the True Dragon Blood, she would most likely go looking for Drake.
“It isn’t?” Emma frowned. “What is it, then?”
Alaric let out a quiet sigh.
“It’s half of Drake’s life. Only the most gifted dragons in the Drakonid can possess True Dragon Blood. I’ve heard that once they lose it, not only will their rank drop, but their body will weaken rapidly. It can even shorten their lifespan significantly…”
Each word Alaric said felt like a heavy hammer striking Emma’s heart.
Her face turned pale instantly, and the hand holding her lightcore trembled slightly from the force of her grip.
“Are you saying that Drake gave me his True Dragon Blood, so he’s dropped in rank and even lost years of his life?”
“Yes,” Alaric answered firmly.
“But when I met him today, I didn’t notice anything different about him.” Emma’s brows knitted tightly. “On the warship today, I looked at him carefully. He seemed the same as usual. He didn’t look like someone who had dropped in rank or lost years of his
life.”
If Drake had looked unwell, she wouldn’t have just come back like that.
Alaric said quietly, “After giving you his True Dragon Blood, there’s no way he could still be completely fine.”
