Chapter 821 The Cubs Hatching

Something this bigour cubs cracking open? How could we not be right there to watch? What if they need help?

Even Marcus straightened up, letting go of that halfdead expression on his face. He said seriously, Stop dawdling Let’s go. We don’t want to miss the cubs hatching.

Back in the room, Lucien carefully took the two eggs from his chest and placed them in the energy lair he had already set up just

for them.

Emma held Remy, her hands trembling from nerves.

Remy knew he couldn’t make a sound while the little cubs were hatching, so he stayed quiet, watching the two eggs just as tensely.

Calum and the others hovered near the lair, barely daring to breathe, all of them focused on the eggs.

Crack.

The tiniest crisp sound rang out.

In the dead silence of the room, it was deafening.

Right after, a thin crack appeared at the top of the egg on the left.

It’s moving! It’s moving! Emma gripped Lucien’s arm, her heart racing. She didn’t dare speak, afraid of disturbing the little cubs.

The crack widened, and a tiny, pointed, pale yellow beak poked through, struggling to make a small hole in the shell.

It seemed tired for a moment and paused, letting out the faintest, almost inaudible cheep.

The soft, tiny sound melted everyone’s heart.

Then, the egg on the right wouldn’t be outdone. Crack, it went, breaking through the shell.

The two little cubs seemed to be racing each other, flopping around inside the shells, rolling this way and that.

Everyone held their breath before two crisp pop finally sounded.

Both shells shattered completely.

Emma and the others craned their necks, full of anticipation. In their minds, they pictured two little Phoenixes bursting from the shells, flames licking their feathers, magnificent and radiant.

However, the next second, everyone froze.

In the pile of broken shells, there were no fiery birds. Instead, two round, fuzzy little lumps rolled out, just like Coalball fresh from

the fire.

They’re so black! Black in every possible shade, pure through and through, not a single stray hair anywhere. They look exactly like two mini Coalball.

The little cubs lay wet on the fur, blinking their big, round eyes. Their eyes were like Lucien’s, sharp and beautiful, but paired with their jetblack bodies, only the whites rolled around.

The room was silent.

Calum’s mouth twitched. Pointing at the black lumps, he asked Lucien in disbelief, Lucienwas it like this when yours hatched?

Lucien was just as stunned.

He stared at the two little black cubs, even wondering if the eggs had been swapped by mistake. This can’t be right. How are they

this dark?

Could it be because my genes had issues before, and that’s why these little cubs look like this?

The thought made his chest tighten. He quickly turned to Alaric. Alaric, check them both. Make sure they’re okay.

As soon as Lucien said that, Emma and everyone else tensed up instantly.

Alaric didn’t waste a second. He pulled out his instruments and examined the two little cubs.

When he saw the results, he let out a sigh of relief. Both little cubs are perfectly healthy. Their potential is actually really strong.

Then, why are they of that color?Emma asked. It’s not that I don’t like them, but I’ve never heard of black Phoenixes. And Lucien

wasn’t of this color when he was born either.

Knowing the cubs were fine, everyone relaxed a little.

As for blackblack is black. They’re my cubs, so I’ll just spoil them.
