Chapter 822 Watching the Babies Hatch
“They might have awakened some kind of special ability.”
Drake added, “They should still be in the room.”

Kieran didn’t release his own mental power. Lucien was the father of the two babies, and his senses would be better at locating them.
If he released his own mental power as well, the chaotic interference might disrupt Lucien instead.
Jim, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly spoke up. “They’ve probably awakened the ability to travel through the void.”
“Travel through the void, eh?”
Hearing this explanation, Emma more or less understood what kind of ability it was.
“Yeah,” Jim said. “It’s somewhat similar to mine, but not exactly the same.”
“Theh, the babies are still in the room, right?” Emma asked, her voice tight with urgency.
With an ability like that, wouldn’t the two little ones be able to travel far away? Just as she finished speaking, a soft, high–pitched chirp sounded above her head. Emma froze. Instinctively, she raised her hand to touch the top of her head.
Everyone else’s gaze followed, landing there as well.
Sitting on Emma’s head was a tiny, pitch–black creature, lying there comfortably. Its small black wings clutched at her hair, and only a pair of bright, bead–like eyes peeked out as it looked innocently at everyone.
No one in the room dared to speak. They were afraid that the moment they made a sound, it would vanish again.
Emma didn’t dare move either. She was afraid that even the slightest motion would make the little one on her head disappear
again.
At least one of them had been found. But what about the other?
The other baby’s voice suddenly sounded from behind Calum. He felt a sudden warmth at the back of his neck, as if something soft and fluffy was rubbing against him.
He stiffly turned his head, only to see another little black fluffball hanging from his collar. Its tiny, pale–yellow beak was pecking curiously at his silver hair, as if testing whether it was edible.
How did it end up there?
Calum was stunned, not daring to move at all.
The others in the room didn’t dare act rashly either, afraid of startling these two little troublemakers who had just hatched and already mastered the ultimate skill of escaping.
The room remained frozen in a tense silence for a while.
Alaric moved his fingers very lightly across the storage band. Two crystal boxes, glowing with a faint deep blue sheen, appeared in his palm.

The surface of the boxes was covered in flowing, water like patterns, and they gave off a calm yet suppressive aura
Alaric handed the boxes to Lucien and lowered his voice so only the two of them could hear
“These are made from void sealing stone. They can temporarily block the surrounding spatial fluctuations, so they won’t be able to use their void traveling abilities for a while.”
The boxes could only contain the two cubs for now. Once they grew a little older, nothing would be able to restrain them
Lucien took the boxes, his gaze fixed tightly on the little black fluffball on top of Emma’s head.
He held his breath and slowly moved closer to Emma. Then, he quickly reached out and grabbed the little black ball perched on her head.
The little one seemed quite comfortable lying there. When Lucien reached for it, it didn’t even dodge, only letting out a chirp
In the next moment, it was gently but swiftly scooped up by Lucien and placed securely into the box made out of void–sealing
stone
Emma immediately took the box from Lucien. Worried the little one might feel uncomfortable, she quickly placed a soft cushion inside.
The moment the lid closed, a faint glow lit up the inner walls of the box.
The little one flapped its wings twice inside. After realizing there was no danger–and finding the cool stone rather comfortable–it curled up obediently and stopped moving.
Everyone let out a collective breath. One down!
Lucien didn’t waste any time. He picked up the second box and turned toward Calum.
Calum was so tense his entire body felt stiff. He stayed perfectly still, enduring the fluffy sensation at the back of his neck.
The little troublemaker was still persistently pecking at his silver hair, seemingly very interested in it.
Lucien quietly approached. Just as his hand was about to reach the little one still struggling with Calum’s hair, the little fluffball suddenly turned its bead–like eyes alertly and let out a chirp!
In the next second, Calum only felt his collar lighten. “This is not good!”
Lucien’s pupils shrank as his hand grabbed empty air.
