Chapter 860 Now That’s Humiliating
If somebody had to embarrass himself, Alaric thought Silas could handle it by himself.
He had no interest in becoming famous.
Not even slightly.
The stage lights flared to life again, harsh and blinding, while tens of thousands of eyes from the audience locked onto them. In that moment, Silas felt as though his career had just been shoved into the cruelest trial of its existence.
Behind him, Alaric was doing his best to disappear behind Marcus, Corvin looked ready to dig straight into the floor. Jim stood there with the dead expression of someone pretending he was not physically present.
Winston, meanwhile, was still excitedly adjusting his robe.
Silas stepped forward anyway,
He laid a hand over his chest and lowered his gaze toward the audience.
There was something almost solemn in that look, as though the Empire’s entire past and future had gathered in his eyes.
“I know what all of you are wondering,” he said. “Why have we appeared again?”
His voice was rich and steady, every syllable under perfect control.
“Because true technological greatness has never meant a reckless one-way rush into the unknown. Its purpose is precision. Its purpose is arrival. Its purpose is protection.”
Then he turned sharply and lifted one arm toward Alaric behind him. His tone rose at once, powerful and resonant.
“What you saw moments ago was rapid tactical deployment. And now, let me present someone brought here for a higher purpose
-Mr. Wynn, former leader of the Luminara fox clan, and the greatest physician in the Empire. Through him, we reveal the true heart of void-transit technology.”
The audience below stared, captivated, even though many of them clearly only half understood what they were hearing
Silas continued smoothly.
“Think about the future. One day, whether you are isolated on a barren frontier planet or trapped on a battlefield far from home. the instant help is needed, void transit will do more than bring people back. In just 0.01 seconds, it will deliver the Empire’s finest doctor and its most advanced medical care directly to the citizen who needs saving. So our brief disappearance was not an accident. It was a medical retrieval. We went to bring Mr. Wynn here.”
His voice grew firmer
“And our return has only one meaning: the Empire will never abandon its people. No matter how far across the wold you may be, the Empire will still reach you. This is the first public drill of Empire Dawn – the intertemporal emergency medical protection initiative.”
For a moment, not a sound came from the theater.
Then the hall detonated.
“Long live the Empire
“This is unbelievables”
“A doctor delivered through space-time? That’s insane
“For the Empire! For all of us
The applause struck like thunder, so fierce it seemed strong enough to shake the chandeliers loose
Alaric stood stiffly where he was, listening to Silas go on about how life came first and Empire Dawn, and felt his eyelid twitch uncontrollably
Empire Dawn?
He was seeing no dawn at all.
At this rate, he was not even sure any of them would make it to tomorrow morning alive.
Silas did not waste the momentum. Keeping that saintly smile fixed in place, he ground a few quiet words out through clenched teeth toward the others behind him.
“Move. Now, Get off the stage”
Wrapped in the roaring cheers, he maintained the flawless elegance of the chief consul and guided this ridiculous “cross-temp emergency medical team” toward the backstage exit with perfect poise.
“Until next time, beloved citizens. The medical protection program still requires further refinement in the lab. Enjoy the rest of your evening”
He gave them one last graceful wave, immaculate to the end.
And then, just as they were about to step offstage, both cubs beat their wings at the same time.
The surrounding space erupted,
“Are you serious? Again?”
Marcus’ shout was swallowed whole by the violent distortion.
Back at the castle, Malrik had waited for what felt like half the night
After all the havoc those two cubs had caused, he had finally concluded that they had to be exhausted by new

Malrik’s eyes snapped open.
Before he could even grab the towel at his side, the void above ripped apart like torn cloth.
Bodies started dropping.
+5 Free Coins
Five men-no, six, if Alaric counted-came crashing down from every angle with terrifying accuracy, all straight into the bathtub.
The impact sent a heavy wave of water smacking right across Malrik’s face.
That luxurious bath, meant for three or four people to soak in comfortably, was instantly packed so full there was not even room to
breathe.
“Who’s standing on my leg!” Corvin yelled first.
“The water’s actually nice. Bit crowded, though.”
Winston wiped water from his face, still clutching his drenched robe, which floated on the surface like some enormous jellyfish.
“Marcus, move your foot off my neck!” Alaric’s voice came out sharp and cold.
The vial he had shoved back into his pocket was now spinning around by itself in the overloaded tub.
Jim silently folded himself into the smallest corner he could manage.
He still wanted to escape.
But one of the cubs was still sitting on his head.
