Chapter 861 It Happened Again

Chapter 861 It Happened Again

If I run, then I’m the one getting dragged through this. That might be even worse. So I can’t run.

Silas was the last to break the surface. His magistrate uniform clung to him, soaked through and tight against his body.

Somewhere along the way, a small decorative flower from the bath had ended up hooked right on the tip of his ear, ridiculously ou of place.

He wiped the water from his face. The moment he looked up, he met a pair of dark eyes burning like hellfire.

Malrik stood there bare-chested, his solid frame on full display. His wet black hair stuck to his temples, droplets sliding slowly down the sharp lines of his chest.

The hand that could crush a Mech core without effort was now gripping the edge of the tub so hard his knuckles nearly turned white.

By the time he realized what was going on and reached for a towel, it was already too late.

Boom!

That all-too-familiar weightless drop hit them again. The entire tub, along with seven grown males, turned into a massive water bomb and got swallowed whole by the rift.

At the center of the Grand Theater stage, the audience was still riding the high of the performance.

The host held up the mic, voice swelling with emotion. “Tonight, we didn’t just witness a miracle. We witnessed Consul Hamblin’s unwavering devotion to his people. Let’s give another round of applause as we send him off…”

Bang!

A deafening crash exploded overhead.

Warm water rained down, mixed with rose petals and the faint scent of sleep oil, slamming straight onto the stage.

The applause cut off instantly. In its place came a sharp wave of gasps.

Malrik reacted first.

He grabbed Silas and yanked him in front as a shield.

Corvin clutched his armor, holding it tight against himself. Thank God, I’ve got clothes on.

“Consul… The host had just gotten a clear look at what was happening on stage.

The pull hit again.

In the next second, Silas and the others vanished along with the still wet puddle spread across the stage, leaving behind a stunned

host and a silent crowd of thousands.

What did we just see? I’m not even sure kind of want to see it again.

Back in Lucien’s office at the military headquarters, he had just finished going through the stack of documents Calum had dur on him.

He was about to turn in when the space above him suddenly warped.

His chest tightened. He stepped back fast.

Crash!

The ceiling looked like it had been ripped wide open.

Warm water mixed with seven large males came crashing down, landing dead center on Lucien’s office desk, made of ancient wood.

Lucien watched his priceless ancient wood desk split clean in two with a sharp crack.

Water splashed everywhere. Silas and the others were piled inside his office, and the air still carried a strange, out-of-place scent o rose essential oil.

Upon seeing this scene, Lucien’s first instinct was to run.

However, as a father, and with what little conscience he still had left, he forced himself to stay put.

If he, as the father of his two biological little cubs, did not clean this up, he would have no way to explain it to Emma tomorrow.

Lucien took a deep breath and forced down the vein twitching at his temple. Then, he quickly grabbed a military cloak from the nearby rack and threw it over Malrik.

He glanced at Winston, who Silas had already pulled up, then finally spoke, sounding a little guilty. “What exactly happened to you guys…”

Malrik’s expression was dark as he wrapped the cloak tightly around himself. The killing intent around him was so strong it felt like it could freeze the warm water in the room.

At Lucien’s words, he shot him a sharp glare. We’re all old foxes here. What is he trying to act like?
