“It’s about the video!” Corvin said, clearly wronged. “Didn’t you swear you saw Emma delete that rabbit dance video with your own eyes? She just pulled it up and showed it to me. It’s still there. Were you lying to me? Or did you two team up to mess with me?”

Just thinking back to how shocked he had been earlier made his chest tighten in frustration.

“Then why is it still there?” Corvin shot back. “Don’t tell me it just grew back on its own.”

Silas paused for a moment, then thoughtfully stroked his chin. He looked at Corvin with a serious, almost concerned expression. “Is it possible she backed it up to online storage before she deleted it?”

Corvin went completely silent. The room fell quiet for a few seconds.

He opened his mouth, but nothing came out. He just froze there like a weathered stone statue.

“Emy probably deleted the local file on lightcore,” Silas said seriously, continuing his analysis. “As long as the online storage wasn’t deleted, it’s basically a one–click restore. Looks like she was already one step ahead of you.”

Corvin completely slumped back into the chair, eyes dull and lifeless.

Silas heard the notification on his lightcore. He opened it and tapped accept.

Corvin stared at the screen showing “Silas has joined the group chat,” and he almost teared up for real.

He grabbed Silas‘ hand. “Silas, you’re basically my savior! You’re seriously too loyal. In this cold, indifferent castle of therian relationships, you’re the most helpful one! You’re the only buddy who actually gets me and is willing to help! From now on, whatever you tell me to do, I’ll do it. No questions asked!”

Silas looked at his dramatic reaction and twitched the corner of his mouth. He pulled his hand back and adjusted his slightly crooked glasses. “Alright, stop the drama.”

He looked at Corvin. “It’s just me joining a group. Emy isn’t unreasonable. She’s not going to post your dancing video just because ! didn’t join. She’s definitely just messing with you.”

“It’s not just this one task.” Corvin slumped on the floor and let out a long sigh. “Emma gave me three tasks. Changing the group name was the first, easy step. Getting you into the group was the second. I knew you would agree, so that wasn’t hard either. The third one is the hardest.”

Just thinking about the third task made him want to cry.

Silas raised a brow, genuinely curious. “What task? How did it get you so stressed out?”

This time, he really couldn’t figure out what Emma had assigned Corvin that could freak him out like this.
