Chapter 931 A Handwritten Self-Reflection
Chapter 931 A Handwritten Self-Reflection
“They’ve already decided on a punishment for you,” Silas said. “And honestly, I think it’s a pretty fitting one.”
“What punishment?” Alaric asked at once.
“Whose idea was this?” Marcus demanded.
“Please tell me there’s another option,” Drake muttered.
The three of them knew the others in the villa far too well.
Whenever that group put their heads together, the outcome was never anything pleasant.

Activating his lightcore, Silas pulled up a screenshot from the group chat and showed it to them. He had already removed Emma’s messages, leaving only everyone else’s comments visible.
Alaric’s eyes widened as he stared at the screen. “A long self-reflection?”
“Wait, handwritten?”
Marcus slumped against the couch as though all hope had left his body.
Drake looked even more miserable. “Wouldn’t it be easier if I just went out and slaughtered a million Chitinids instead?”
Silas turned toward him. “If Emma approves, then I don’t see why not. You’ll have to ask her yourself.”
The moment he heard that, Drake shot to his feet. “Then I’m going to talk to Emma.”
“Wait.” Marcus immediately grabbed his arm. “We’re in this together. You don’t get to abandon us and save yourself. If you’re going, we’re all going.”
Alaric folded his arms. “So, leaving me behind is what you call friendship now?”
Marcus glanced at Alaric. “Drake and I are both from the Four Domains. That’s family business. Why are you trying to involve yourself?”
Alaric nearly laughed from irritation. “Marcus, are you seriously drawing lines now? When we stood downstairs taking the blame together, you didn’t seem to think I was an outsider.”
He stepped forward as he spoke, “Don’t even think about pushing all the responsibility onto me. If anyone’s going, we’re going together.”
Meanwhile, Silas remained seated on the couch.
He calmly lifted his glass, took a leisurely sip of juice, and spoke in his usual gentle tone.
“Go ahead. I’m not stopping any of you.”
All three men immediately halted.
They turned toward him at the same time.

Marcus frowned, “What exactly is that supposed to mean?”
Alaric narrowed his eyes. “Do you think that plan won’t work?”
“Not at all.” Silas shook his head innocently. “I only said I wouldn’t stop you. I never said the idea would fail.”
Alaric studied him suspiciously.
“The fact that you won’t say it won’t fail is exactly why I know it will.”
Without another word, he dropped back onto the couch.
The instant Alaric sat down, Marcus and Drake followed suit.
Among everyone in the house, only Lucien and Alaric could truly compete with Sllas when it came to intelligence.

Silas might be shameless most of the time, but nobody questioned how sharp he was. If he believed something wouldn’t succeed, there was usually a reason.
Seeing them settle back onto the couch, Silas merely smiled and said nothing.
After handling a couple of documents his assistant had sent through his lightcore, he rose to his feet and glanced at the trio.
“Take all the time you need to figure things out. I still have work waiting for me.”
He turned toward the door. “I won’t be joining your discussion.”
“Wait!” Marcus quickly stepped in front of him.
“You can’t just leave. What are we supposed to do without you?”)
Everyone knew none of them would come up with a useful solution on their own.
At a time like this, they needed Silas.
“What are the three of you supposed to do?”
Silas chuckled. “How should I know?”

His eyes curved slightly with amusement. “Weren’t you calling me heartless a moment ago? Eunny how quickly your trust came back.”
Just then, a tiny movement came from his pocket. Remy, who had been sleeping inside, woke up. The small dark-blue fruit wriggled free and hopped onto Silas’ head.
As Remy grew older, his mastery over his ability improved significantly. He had become much more skilled at controlling his transformations. Not only could he switch freely between fruit and human forms, but he could also adjust his size whenever he wanted.
Sitting atop Silas’ head, he swayed the little flower growing from his stem and looked curiously at Marcus.
“Daddy Marcus, what happened? Why do all of you look so troubled?”
In reality, Remy had heard every word from inside the pocket.

He was simply pretending otherwise.
Marcus, Alaric, and Drake all twitched at the corners of their mouths.
Not one of them believed the little troublemaker had missed the conversation.
He was clearly acting on purpose.
