Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 198

Yvonne made her way up to the hospital’s inpatient ward.

Her mother had been moved from a shared room to a private one.

Wearing a mask, Yvonne pretended to be just passing by as she glanced into the room through the open door.

Inside, she saw her mother propped up against the headboard, sipping water from a mug.

“Dona, this water’s gotten a bit cold. Could you pour me some hot, please?” her mother asked, her voice timid and careful.

Yvonne slowed her steps, pausing outside the door to listen more closely.

“So what if it’s a little cold? Just drink it, for goodness’ sake! Honestly, you complain about everything!” Dona, the middle-aged nurse, replied with open irritation.

Gina Wood Scott shrank back, lowering her mug without another word.

Yvonne could almost picture her mother’s meek, submissive posture—so different from the sharp, fierce look she’d seen in her mother’s eyes just days before. If she hadn’t witnessed that herself, Yvonne might have assumed her mother had always been a docile pushover.

Everyone said elderly patients alone in the hospital often got neglected or mistreated. Yvonne never thought she’d stumble upon it herself.

Inside the room, Gina remained silent, enduring the nurse’s constant grumbling and scolding.

Yvonne stood by the door, arms crossed, waiting for Dona to finish her tirade and come out.

“Next time someone asks me to look after their two sons along with their mother, I’ll just end the contract right there. Money’s hard to earn, but this is ridiculous. Some families are just rotten to the core.

Honestly, what kind of person do you have to be for both your sons to wind up cursed and ruined? Serves them right, if you ask me. Disgusting.”

Yvonne’s brow furrowed at Dona’s harsh words. Whatever annoyance she’d felt toward the nurse faded; in fact, she found Dona’s brashness almost amusing.

After all, the Zade brothers had tried to kidnap her, and both had paid dearly for it. It made sense their family would stir up trouble at the hospital when they couldn’t find her.

Dona, it seemed, wasn’t someone you could easily push around, either.

Inside, Gina kept her head down, silently enduring the scolding.

Eventually, Dona finished tidying up and stepped out, spotting Yvonne standing by the door in her mask.
