Oops! My Whirlwind Tycoon Husband Is the Guy from That Night? novel Chapter 5

Sonia looked at Quentin's breathtakingly handsome face and replied, "Mr. Horton, you're unforgettable. If we had met before, I definitely would have remembered."

Quentin felt the exact same way.

Sonia possessed an aggressive, intoxicating beauty. She had these crazy mesmerizing eyes, and even just the way she moved was sexy without even trying. She was the kind of stunning that instantly stole the oxygen from the room.

Beyond her face, her figure was equally striking. She was tall and incredibly fit.

She had a narrow waist and full hips — a classic hourglass shape.

If Quentin had ever met a woman with such an unforgettable presence, he would have remembered her.

But for some reason, the moment he laid eyes on her, a profound sense of déjà vu had washed over him.

Sonia felt his gaze boring into her. His stare was intense, almost like a physical flame licking at her skin. Her cheeks began to heat up.

Desperate to break the rising tension, she quickly asked, "What do you like to do in your free time, Mr. Horton?"

"Make money," Quentin answered.

Sonia blinked.

Then, her lips curved into a genuine smile. "I like making money, too."

"I thrive on the chaos of work consuming all my time," Quentin added. "I love the absolute thrill of closing a massive deal."

"So do I," Sonia agreed.

"And besides making money, I also enjoy spending it on other people," Quentin noted smoothly.

Sonia arched a brow, instantly catching the subtle bait he was dangling.

His deep, dark eyes remained locked onto hers as he continued. "If you marry me, I'll gift you a twelve-thousand-square-foot mansion in the heart of the city, buy you a Frozen Berry Pink Porsche for your daily commute, and hire a full staff so you never have to lift a finger. On top of that, I'll provide you with thirty thousand dollars a month in pocket money."

In the wild, male animals perform elaborate dances, sing, or flaunt their plumage to attract a mate.

Quentin Horton was doing the exact same thing.

He was aggressively flexing his financial dominance.

If he was going to ask a woman to marry him, he refused to let her suffer even a slight drop in her standard of living.

With his limitless resources, he could effortlessly provide her with the ultimate life of luxury.

But, of course, he had his own conditions.

Conditions that most women would find entirely unacceptable.

Since he was on a blind date, Quentin was here specifically to find a wife.

Marriage meant binding two lives together. Eventually, everyone's true colors would show. He despised deceiving women. He hated the idea of playing the fiercely devoted lover before the wedding, only to coldly neglect his wife afterward. He preferred brutal honesty upfront, giving his partner the ultimate choice.

"My work is incredibly demanding," Quentin stated plainly. "I travel frequently, both domestically and internationally. I do not have the time or energy to coddle a partner. My ideal marriage is one of mutual respect and absolute independence. We stay out of each other's way. Can you accept that, Miss Ashford?"

Sonia mentally summed him up in one word: Low-maintenance.

Some people panicked if they didn't get a text back within five minutes. Others didn't care if a reply took two days.

The doors to the café swung open, and Quentin stepped out onto the sidewalk.

Inside the Rolls-Royce, the assistant cheered. "See! I told you! Another date bites the dust. Pay up! I won the bet!"

He practically shoved his hand in the driver's face. "One thousand dollars. Hand it over!"

The driver sighed in defeat, pulling out his phone to transfer the funds. Then, he glanced through the windshield.

Under the blazing summer sun, Quentin was standing by the café door, holding it open for a woman. Once she stepped through, he finally let it go.

The driver quickly shoved his phone back into his pocket, a massive grin spreading across his face. "Hold on. The game isn't over yet."

The assistant whipped his head around, his jaw practically unhinging as he watched Quentin walking side-by-side with the stunning woman in the red dress.

Holy hell. What was happening?

The assistant scrambled out of the car, rushing over to pull the rear door open for his boss.

Sonia naturally walked around to the opposite side. Just as she reached for the handle, a hand shot past her, grabbing it first.

His knuckles brushed lightly against hers. A sharp, electric thrill spiked across her skin.

Quentin stood chivalrously beside her, resting his hand protectively over the door frame.

Sonia lowered her gaze and slid into the leather seat.

As she moved, her soft arm brushed against his firm waist, and the hem of her red dress dragged seductively across his dark trousers.
