Sonia and Quentin walked out of City Hall, each holding a paper copy of their marriage certificate.
She was now officially and legally Mrs. Horton.
Walking half a step behind him, Sonia allowed her eyes to greedily trace his physique.
He had taken off his suit jacket, casually draping it over his forearm. He walked with a tall, effortlessly dominant stride, his white shirt cleanly tucked into his dark trousers.
Her eyes dragged down his broad shoulders, past his narrow waist, and locked onto his backside.
He had a really great ass.
A random thought popped into her head: Men with nice asses were exceptionally gifted in bed.
Quentin suddenly turned around. Sonia instantly ripped her gaze away, staring intently at a random building.
"Do you have time right now?" Quentin asked. "I'd like to take you to the Horton estate to meet my family for dinner."
Since they were legally married, meeting the in-laws was the logical next step. "I have time," Sonia agreed.
Quentin pulled out his phone to call The Horton Matriarch, but before he could dial, his ringtone blared.
A frantic, panicked male voice echoed from the speaker. "Boss, there's a massive emergency with the merger we were negotiating."
Quentin listened to the crisis, hung up, and turned his dark, serious eyes to Sonia. "There's an urgent situation at the company that demands my immediate attention. I'll take you to meet my family as soon as I get back."
They were two independent adults with their own careers and lives. They weren't hormonal teenagers who needed to be permanently attached at the hip the second they made it official.
"Go handle your business," Sonia replied easily. "We have plenty of time."
Quentin took a step forward, then paused, looking back at her. "Where are you heading? I'll drop you off."
She didn't refuse, walking smoothly toward the car. "I need to head to the office."
This time, she walked in front of him.
Quentin's gaze traced the elegant line of her neck, swept down her slender back, dipped past her incredibly narrow waist, and landed squarely on her backside.
A sudden memory flashed in his mind: a small, perfectly round dark mole resting on a slope of flawless skin. Wickedly seductive.
Quentin lifted his hand and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his collar, exposing the sharp, elegant lines of his collarbones.
He glanced up at the glaring sun. "Why is it so hot today?"
Standing nearby, the assistant blinked. "Sir, the temperature actually dropped two degrees from yesterday."
