Chapter 120*

Angelina’s POV

He crossed his arms. “Sarah can have the company. I don’t want it.”

Mr. Pierce was breathing hard. His hands were shaking.

“And tomorrow? Your big meeting?” Logan’s smile got colder. “I hope they laugh in your face. I hope your billion-dollar deal’ falls through.”

He leaned forward slightly. “Maybe then you’ll know what it feels like to f at something you actually care about.”

Mr. Pierce’s whole body was trembling. From rage or hurt, I couldn’t tell.

“You’re done,” he said finally. His voice was shaking. “DONE.”

He pulled out his phone. Started typing something.

“Every card. Frozen. This house? Off limits.”

He looked up at Logan. “You want to act like a child? I’ll treat you like one

Logan laughed. “GO AHEAD! Freeze them all! I’ll get a fucking JOB like a normal person! At least then I’ll earn something that’s actually

MINE!

Mr. Pierce’s finger hovered over his phone screen. He was about to press something.

Then he stopped. Looked up at all of us standing around the pool.

His expression changed. “Alright,” he said. His voice was ice now. “Party’s over.”

He looked at each of us. “All of you. OUT.”

Mia’s eyes went wide. “What?”

“This is private property. You’re trespassing.” He raised his phone. “I can call security if you prefer.”

Silas stood up from his chair. “Sir, we were just-”

“I don’t care.” Mr. Pierce cut him off. His eyes locked on Silas. “You. I don’t know who you are, but you look like you can’t afford a lawyer. So I

suggest you leave before I make this a legal issue.”

Silas’s face went dark red.

Mr. Pierce turned to Mia. “And you. Don’t your parents teach you not to hang around losers?”

Mia’s mouth fell open.

Mrs. Pierce tried to step forward. “Sweetheart, maybe that’s a bit harsh-

“No.” Mr. Pierce didn’t even look at her. “They need to understand boundaries.”

He turned back to us with a fake smile. I’m sure you all have homes to go. It’s late. Your parents must be worried.”

His tone was so condescending it made my teeth hurt.

Then he looked at his watch. “I’m giving you five minutes. After that, I’m lling the sheriff’s department.”

He tapped his watch. “Starting now.”

Logan stepped forward. “Dad! You can’t just-

“Watch me.” Mr. Pierce’s eyes were cold. “This is MY house. MY property. And these people have overstayed their welcome.”

Mia started gathering her things. Her hands were shaking. She looked like he was about to cry.

Silas was already picking up his phone and keys from the table.

Logan looked helpless. “I’m so sorry, guys, I didn’t know he was-”

“It’s fine, Mia said quietly. But her voice was tight.

I watched all of this happen. Watched Mr. Pierce standing there like some kind of king.

I stood up slowly. “Mr. Pierce.”

My voice cut through the noise. Everyone stopped moving.

Mr. Pierce turned to look at me. His expression was annoyed. “What?”

I looked directly at him. “For someone who supposedly closes billion-dolla deals…”

I paused. Let my mouth curve slightly.

…you’re surprisingly bad at reading people.”

The entire pool area went silent.

Mia’s head snapped toward me. Her eyes were huge.

Silas’s mouth fell open.

Logan looked like he’d stopped breathing.

Mr. Pierce’s eyes narrowed. He took a step toward me. “Excuse me?”

I didn’t move. Just kept looking at him with the same calm expression.

He walked closer. Got right in front of me. Trying to use his height to intimidate me.

“Little girl, do you have ANY idea who you’re talking to?” His voice was full of threat. “I could buy your parents’ house with my monthly bonus.”

I smiled. A real smile this time. ‘Is that supposed to impress me?”

I let my eyes scan over him. His Rolex. His perfectly styled hair.

“Money doesn’t buy class, Mr. Pierce.”

I looked back at his eyes. “And it certainly doesn’t buy respect.”

His face went red. “You need to watch your mouth-

“You stand here, insulting teenagers at a pool party.” My voice got colder. Threatening to call the cops on your son’s friends. And you wonder

why Logan doesn’t want your life?”

I took a step forward. Now we were almost nose to nose.

‘You’re not disappointed in him because he’s failing.” I paused. “You’re disappointed because he’s smart enough to see through you.”

Mr. Pierce’s mouth opened. Then closed. No words came out.

Nobody had ever talked to him like this. I could see it in his eyes.

We stared at each other. Neither of us backing down.

The air felt heavy. Like the whole world was holding its breath.

Mrs. Pierce finally broke the silence. She laughed. But it was nervous. “Okay! Okay, let’s all just calm down!” She grabbed her husband’s arm.

“Honey, let’s go inside. Please.”

She tugged harder. “These kids didn’t do anything wrong. They’re just having fun.”

Mr. Pierce kept staring at me. His eyes were calculating now. Finally, he took a deep breath.

“You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that.”

His voice was still hostile. “But guts don’t pay bills.”

He turned away. But before he left, he looked back at Logan one more time. Then he was gone. Mrs. Pierce hurried after him.

The pool area was completely silent.

Silas let out a long breath. “Holy SHIT, Master.”

Logan was staring at me with his mouth open. “Did you just… did you just tell off my dad?”

“He was being an asshole,” I said simply.

Mia started laughing. It started quiet, then got louder. “Oh my god. Oh my GOD. That was amazing!”
