Chapter 171
Third Person POV
The sand beneath Aria’s feet was dark. She stood in the center of Cage 13, surrounded by the roar of hundreds of voices.
But inside her head, it was quiet.
She looked at Theodore. He thought he’d already won.
Aria’s mind drifted. She’d been twelve years old. Living on the streets. No pack. No family. Just survival.
A man had found her. Offered her food. Shelter. Training.
The cost was simple. Fight. Win. Or die.
Underground fighting rings. Places where laws didn’t exist. Where money talked and blood flowed freely.
Shed fought kids her own age at first. Then teenagers. Then adults.
Every fight was the same. Win or lose everything.
She learned fast. How to read opponents. How to find weaknesses. How to end fights quickly and efficiently.
By fourteen, she’d fought in seventeen death matches. Won all of them.
By sixteen, no one would fight her anymore. She was too dangerous. Too skilled.
That’s when she started building her pack. Riverbend. The strongest pack in the world.
Because she knew the truth. The universe didn’t care about fairness. About justice. About good intentions.
It only cared about power.
And the only way to control your destiny was to become the strongest.
Aria blinked. Came back to the present.
Theodore was still standing there. Still smiling. Still confident.
She looked at him. Really looked at him.
And something in her eyes changed. Something dangerous. Predatory.
The crowd couldn’t see it. They were too far away.
But Theodore saw it. And for just a second, his smile faltered.
“I’ll make this quick, kid.” Theodore’s voice was loud. Meant for the crowd as much as for her.

Chapter 171 *
Outside the cage, Marquis was being treated by medical personnel. His left arm hung at a wrong angle. His face was covered in blood
But he was conscious enough to shout. “Aria! He fights dirty! Watch for hidden weapons!”
His voice was weak. Strained. But urgent.
Theodore laughed. “Hidden weapons? That’s rich coming from you, Marquis. You used plenty of tricks yourself.”
Theodore didn’t move immediately. Just stood there. Grinning.
Then he turned to the cage fence. Made a gesture with his hand.
One of his pack members outside the cage reached through the fence. Handed him something.
A chain. Heavy steel links. Wrapped around brass knuckles.
The crowd’s noise level increased. Some people were cheering. Others were shouting protests.
But the referee didn’t stop it. This was Cage 13. Weapons were allowed.
Theodore wrapped the chain around his right hand. The brass knuckles gleamed under the lights.
“Now we’re talking. He tested the weight. Swung it a few times. The chair made a whooshing sound through the air.
Aria watched. Didn’t move. Didn’t react.
Outside the cage, people were gathering. The crowd was massive now. Hundreds of spectators packed around Cage 13.
Felix appeared at the fence. His face was pale. Shocked.
“What the hell is going on?” He grabbed the cage fence. Shook it. “Sterling Get out of there! This isn’t part of the assessment!*
But Aria couldn’t hear him over the crowd noise.
Maya and Jen pushed through the crowd. Both looked terrified.
Maya grabbed the fence. “Aria! No! You can’t do this!”
“What is she doing? Why is she in there?”
“This is insane.”
Felix was still trying to get attention. “Hey! CAGE MANAGER! This fighter is part of a military selection! She shouldn’t be in there!”
A large man in a black shirt walked over. He had a clipboard. His expression was bored. “You got proof she was forced in?”
“What? No, but-”
“Then she’s in voluntarily. Can’t stop a Cage 13 match once it starts. You know the rules.”

Chapter 171 *
“She’s fifteen years old!”
“She signed the waiver. That’s all that matters here.”
Felix looked desperate. He reached for something at his belt. A knife. Standard military issue.
He pulled it out. “Sterling! Catch!”

He tried to throw it through the fence.
But two men grabbed his arms, Both were big. Wearing Redwood Pack colors.
“No interference, soldier boy.” One of them twisted Felix’s wrist. Made him drop the knife.
The other one pushed Felix back. “You want to help your friend? Too bad. age 13 rules. No outside interference.”
Felix struggled. But the two men were stronger. They held him back.
Maya and Jen were pushed aside by the crowd. More people were pressing forward. Trying to get a better view.
Inside the cage, Theodore was walking toward Aria. Slow. Confident.

“You know what I love about Cage 13? His voice carried across the sand. No rules. No limits. I can do whatever I want to you, and nobody will
stop me.”
Aria stood perfectly still. Her expression was blank. Empty.
Theodore swung the chain. It whistled through the air. Slammed into the sand where Aria had been standing.
But Aria had moved. Just a slight step to the left. Minimal movement. Maximum efficiency.
The chain hit the sand and left a deep gouge. If it had connected with flesh, it would have shattered bones.
Theodore pulled the chain back. Swung again. Harder this time.
Aria moved again. Another minimal step. The chain missed by inches.
“Stand still!” Theodore’s voice had irritation in it now.
The crowd was getting louder. Shouting encouragement to Theodore. Screaming for blood.
Crush her!
“End this!”
“Make her pay!”
Aria just kept moving. Dodging. Not attacking. Just observing.
Theodore swung again. And again. Each swing was powerful. Deadly. But one of them connected.

After the fifth miss, Theodore stopped. He was breathing harder now. Enigrated.
What are you doing? Fight back!
Aria didn’t respond. Just stood there. Watching him.
Outside the cage, Felix had managed to break free from the two men. He ran to a different section of the fence. Pressed his face against it.
“Sterling! Listen to me! Get out of there! Forfeit! It doesn’t matter!”
But Aria still didn’t hear him. Or if she did, she ignored him.
Maya was crying now. “Somebody stop this! She’s going to die!”
Jen had her hands over her mouth. I can’t watch. I can’t watch this.”
“Do something! Can’t you do something?”
“There’s nothing we can do. Once you’re in Cage 15, the only way out is unconscious or dead.”
Theodore charged. Running straight at Aria with the chain raised high.
The crowd roared.
He swung with everything he had. A massive overhead strike aimed directly at Aria’s head.
Aria moved.
But this time, she didn’t just dodge. She did something else.
She disappeared from Theodore’s line of sight.
The chain slammed into the sand. The impact was massive. Sand exploded upward in a cloud.
Theodore looked around. Confused. “Where-
Aria had rolled. A perfect sideways roll. Fast. Smooth. She’d moved from in front of Theodore to directly behind him.
All in less than a second.
Most of the crowd hadn’t even seen her move. One moment she was there The next she was gone.
Theodore turned around. Slower than he should have. Still looking for her
That’s when Aria moved again.
She jumped. Not straight up. At an angle. Toward Theodore’s back.
Her hands grabbed his head. One hand on his jaw. The other on the back of his neck.

Her body weight swung around. Using momentum. Using physics.
And then she twisted.
Hard Fast Precise.
The sound echoed through the entire facility.
CRACK
Not a small sound. Not subtle. Loud Clear. Unmistakable.
Theodore’s eyes went wide. Then empty.
The chain dropped from his hand. Hit the sand with a heavy thud.
His body stood there for a second. Like it didn’t know it was dead yet.
Then it fell. Forward. Face-first into the sand.
Aria landed on her feet. Light. Balanced. Like she’d just stepped off a curb
The entire warehouse went silent.
Completely silent.
Hundreds of people. All making noise just seconds ago. Now nobody was saying anything.
