Oops Wrong Girl to Bully (Angelina) by Xena Kessler novel Chapter 168

Chapter 168*

Third Person POV

Felix stared at her. His mouth opened. Closed. Opened again.

*l†̈* He paused. Looked at his clipboard. Then back at her. “What the hell was that? What the hell just happened?”

“I substituted for an injured fighter. Won the match. Now I’m back.”

“You killed someone!*

2

“It was Cage 13. Death is an accepted outcome.”

Felix ran his hand through his hair. “Sterling, you just broke every protocol we have. You left your assigned evaluation area. Entered an

unauthorized cage. Participated in a death matcha€**

“Am I disqualified from the military selection?” Aria’s voice was calm. Direct.

“la€” I don’t know! I’ve never seen anything like this!”

The referee from earlier stepped forward. He was holding a tablet. “Major Felix, if I may?”

Felix turned to him. “What?”

“I’ve reviewed the regulations. Fighter Sterling technically didn’t violate any military selection rules.”

“How? She left Cage 8!”

“She left before her number was called. She was still waiting for her turn. There’s no rule that says candidates can’t leave the staging area

during waiting periods.”

1

Felix’s expression showed disbelief. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”

“Furthermore, her participation in Cage 13 was legal. She signed the proper waivers. The substitution was approved. Everything was by the

book.”

The referee swiped on his tablet. Pulled up something.

“In fact, according to the partnership agreement between the military and his facility, any candidate who wins in Cage 13 receives automatic bonus points for demonstrating exceptional combat capability.”

‘How many points?” Felix’s voice was quiet.

One hundred points. Added to their base score.”

The entire staging area went silent.

“One hundred points?” someone whispered. “That’s insane!”

Another voice. That’s more than all the other evaluations combined!”

Felix looked at Aria. Then at the referee. Then back at Aria.

“So she’s not disqualified.”

“Correct. In fact, she’s earned the highest possible score in this evaluation

Felix closed his eyes. Took a deep breath. “This is unbelievable.”

“Additionally, the referee continued, “Fighter Sterling is still entitled to complete her Cage 8 evaluation if she wishes. For the standard twenty

points.”

Aria shook her head. “Not necessary. I’ll take the Cage 13 score.”

“Are you sure? The Cage 8 evaluation would add to your totalâ€TM*

“I’m sure.”

The referee made a note on his tablet. “Very well. Fighter Sterling’s final store for today’s assessment is one hundred for the Cage 13 victory.”

He looked up at the crowd.

“This is a historic moment. In the entire history of the Special Operations Selection Program, no candidate has ever achieved this score. Fighter

Sterling has broken every record we have.”

The candidates started whispering to each other. Some looked impressed. Others looked jealous. A few looked terrified.

Felix rubbed his face. “Fine. FINE. Sterling, you’re dismissed for today. Return to the barracks. We’ll announce final rankings tonight.”

“Yes sir.”

Aria turned to leave.

‘Sterling.”

She stopped. Looked back at Felix.

His expression was complicated. “That was the most insane thing I’ve ever witnessed. And I’ve been doing this job for fifteen years.”

Aria didn’t respond. Just gave a small nod. Then continued walking.

Maya and Jen fell into step beside her. Neither spoke until they were out of the staging area. Away from the crowd.

Then Maya grabbed Aria’s arm. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?”

‘I’m fine.”

“That was terrifying! We thought you were going to die!”

Jen nodded quickly Seriously. When Theodore went down, we thought we didn’t know what to think.”

Aria kept walking. “It’s over now. Let’s just get back to the barracks.”

“But how I mean, where did you learn to fight like that?”

“Long story”

“We have time!

Aria stopped walking. Turned to face them both.

*Look. What you saw today was necessary. Marquis would have died if I hadn’t stepped in. I did what I had to do. That’s it.”

Maya and Jen exchanged glances. Both clearly wanted to ask more questions.

But something in Aria’s expression made them stop.

“Okay, Maya said finally. “We won’t push. But if you ever want to talk—*

“I know where to find you.”

They continued walking. Through the corridors. Past other cages. Past crowds of people.

Aria noticed people staring at her. Whispering. Pointing,

She ignored all of it. Just kept moving forward.

They reached the main entrance. The large concrete area where they’d firs arrived.

The transport trucks were parked in the same spots. Waiting.

Other candidates were starting to gather. Some were finished with their evaluations. Others were still waiting.

Aria headed toward the trucks. Ready to leave this place behind.

Then she heard Maya’s voice. Sharp. Surprised.

“Wait. What is that?”

Aria turned. Maya was staring at something on the wall near the entrance

A white wall. Covered with framed photographs.

Aria’s stomach tightened. She knew what this was.

The Legend Wall.

“It’s just pictures,” Jen said. “Probably past fighters or something.”

“No look. Look at the plaques under each photo.”

Maya walked closer. Started reading the plaques out loud.

Marquis. Forty-three wins. Zero losses. Status: Active.”

“Friedrich. Thirty-seven wins. Two losses. Status: Retired.”

“Wolfgang. Forty-one wins. Three losses. Status: Active.”

She moved down the wall. Reading more names. More records.

Then she stopped. Her voice changed. Got quieter.

Theodore. Fifty wins. Zero losses. Status: Deceased.”

Someone was removing Theodore’s frame from the wall. Taking it down. His picture would go into storage. The way all dead fighters pictures

did.

Maya continued walking along the wall. Jen followed her.

Aria stood back. Didn’t move closer. She knew what was coming.

Maya reached the highest point on the wall. Where one frame hung above all the others.

A gold-bordered frame. Larger than the rest. More ornate.

But the frame was empty. No photograph. Just a plaque.

Maya leaned in. Started reading.

“Name: Angelina.”

Her voice was getting louder now. Drawing attention from other people nearby.

“Gender: Female.”

“Title: Greatest Fighter in Pit History.”

“Record: One hundred and three wins. Zero losses.”

“Specialty: Close combat. Speed techniques. Fatal strikes.”

*Nickname: The Reaper.”

The entire entrance area went quiet. Everyone was listening now.

Maya stood there. Staring at the plaque. Her brain was working. Processing

Then her eyes went wide. Her hand came up to cover her mouth.

She turned around. Slowly. Looked directly at Aria.

“Angelina, Maya whispered. “That’s what Marquis called you. In the corridor. After you spoke French to him.”

Aria said nothing. Just stood there.

“And this plaque says Angelina was the greatest fighter in Pit history. One hundred and three wins. Zero losses.”

Jen was catching on now too. Her expression showed shock. “You’re not ju some girl who knows self-defense,” Maya said. Her voice was

shaking. “You’re not just skilled. You’re HER. You’re the legend they’re talking about.”

Aria met her eyes. Didn’t confirm. Didn’t deny.

Just said one word. “Maybe.”

Then she turned. Walked toward the trucks. She reached the second truck. Climbed in. Sat in her usual spot near the window.

A few minutes later, Maya and Jen climbed in. Sat across from her.

Neither of them spoke. Just stared.

Aria closed her eyes. Leaned her head back against the seat.

More candidates filed in. The truck filled up. People talking. Discussing what they’d witnessed today.

Felix appeared at the truck door. Did a headcount. “Everyone’s here. Let’s move out.”

The engine started. The truck began moving. Pulling away from the Pit facility.

Aria kept her eyes closed. But she could feel Maya and Jen watching her.

Finally, Maya spoke. Her voice was quiet. Meant just for Aria.

“We won’t tell anyone. About Angelina. About what we figured out.”

Aria opened her eyes. Looked at her.

“We’re your friends,” Jen added. “And friends keep secrets.”

Aria studied them both. These two girls who’d been following her around 1 day. Who’d been terrified for her. Who’d cried when they thought

she’d die.

1

“Thank you,” Aria said quietly.

Maya smiled slightly. “But you have to admit. This is the craziest thing that’s ever happened to us.”

“Probably.”

The truck continued driving. But nothing felt normal anymore.

Chapter 168*

They’d seen something today. Something that couldn’t be unseen.

Aria Sterling wasn’t just a talented candidate. She was something else en rely.

A legend. A ghost from the past. A killer who looked like a teenage girl.

And as the truck drove through the desert, Maya found herself wondering what else Aria was hiding..

What other secrets lay beneath that calm exterior.

What other lives she’d lived before this one.

The truck ride back took ninety minutes. Most people fell asleep. Exhausted from the day’s events.

But Maya stayed awake. Watching Aria. Trying to reconcile the quiet girl sitting across from her with the warrior who’d killed Theodore in

thirty seconds.

It didn’t make sense. But somehow it did.
