Oops Wrong Girl to Bully (Angelina) by Xena Kessler novel Chapter 18

Chapter 18*

Angelina’s POV

Emma stood there for another few seconds. Then she practically tan to her seat.

The three girls who’d been gossiping earlier were staring at me with their mouths open.

One of them whispered: Holy shit.

Logan, sitting next to me, looked like he’d just witnessed a car crash.

Dude,he breathed. What the hell was that?

I shrugged. Just getting what’s mine.

The bell rang.

Ms. Wilson walked in, coffee in hand. Took one look at the classeveryon staring at meand sighed.

Alright, what happened now?

Nobody answered.

Wilson set her coffee down. Fine. Everyone turn to page 147. We’re picking up where we left off on Friday.

The class shuffled into motion. Books opened. Pencils came out.

But I could feel eyes on me. Whispers starting up again.

I glanced at my seat. Last row, corner by the window. Right next to the anent radiator that clanked and hissed all winter.

The trash can was literally three feet away.

The troublemakers and hopeless cases got shoved to the back corner. Out of sight, out of mind.

Me, Logan, a kid who slept through every class, and another girl who was probably high right now.

Wilson’s rejects.

I didn’t care.

In my old life, I’d had a throne. Power. Respect born from fear.

Now I had a plastic chair next to a radiator and a trash can.

And somehow, I was happier.

This is normal, I thought. This is what normal people do. Sit in shitty sea and learn algebra

Chapter 18+

It was perfect.

I pulled out my notebook. Started copying the problems from the board.

The class droned on. Wilson explained polynomials like we were five years old.

I already knew this stuff. Hell, I’d known it since I was twelve.

In my previous life, I d managed international operations. Encrypted financial systems. Had to do complex math in my head while negotiating milliondollar deals.

Algebra I was child’s play.

But I didn’t care.

I took notes anyway. Worked through the practice problems. Raised my hand when Wilson asked questions.

Because this was normal.

Normal high school. Normal teacher. Normal boring Monday morning class

I’d missed this. Or rather, I’d never had it.

The old Angelina had been training to kill people by age ten. Had never gone to a real school. Never had homework. Never sat in a classroom full of teenagers complaining about how hard math was.

This was a gift.

Aria?

I looked up.

Logan was staring at me like I’d sprouted antennae.

Why are you smiling?

Am I?

Yeah. And you’ve been taking notes for like, forty minutes straight. He gestured at my notebook. You’ve never taken notes in your life. What’s going on?

I’m paying attention.

To algebra?

It’s interesting.

It’s literally the most boring thing on the planet. He leaned closer, lowering his voice. Did you get a concussion when you jumped out that window? Should we call someone?

You threatened Emma Rodriguez. You’re taking notes in Wilson’s class. You look happy to be here. He shook) ead. That’s not fine. Thats

concerning

Maybe I just decided to take school seriously.

You have a 2.0 GPA.

S07

So nobody with a 2.0 suddenly becomes a straightA student overnight.e studied my face. Unless something happened. LikeI don’t know.

Brain damage?

I’m just trying harder,I said.

Why?

Good question.

The honest answer? Because I’d spent five years as the strongest Alpha in the world. Spent every waking moment watching my back. Trusting no one. Sleeping with weapons under my pillow.

And I was tired.

Thishigh school, homework, normal teenage problemsthis was a vacation.

But I couldn’t say that.

So I shrugged. Felt like it.

Logan didn’t look convinced. But he let it go.

Whatever. You’re being weird, but okay. He slouched in his chair. So listen. You doing anything after school?

Why?

I’m starving. And I got paid last Friday. He grinned. Wanna hit up InNut? My treat.

From Aria’s memories, I knew Logan was one of her only real friends. Him and Mia,

Not Emma. Emma had been a user. A fake friend.

But Logan? He was genuine.

Annoying sometimes. Immature. But he’d never asked Aria for money. Never used her.

fusthung out with her. Made stupid jokes. Texted her memes at 2 AM.

Real friendship.

His grin got wider Sweet. We can get Mia too.

I pulled up Aria’s memories of her. Smart. Really smart. Honor roll every mester. Advanced classes. Sometimes helped teachers grade papers.

The exact opposite of me and Logan.

But she’d never looked down on us. Never made us feel stupid.

Justaccepted us.

Which, in high school, was rarer than gold.

Yeah, I said. Let’s get Mia.

Logan didn’t get up to walk over to her desk.

That would’ve required effort.

Instead, he juststood up and shouted across the room.

YO, MIA!

Half the class turned to look.

Ms. Wilson didn’t even glance up from her computer. Probably given up on controlling Logan months ago.

Stop doing homework like a psycho and get over here!Logan continued. We gotta discuss important shit!

A few people laughed.

I saw Mia look up from her notebook. She rolled her eyes but smiled.
