Oops Wrong Girl to Bully (Angelina) by Xena Kessler novel Chapter 36

Chapter 36*

Angelina’s POV

Outdoor education dragged on, and by day six, everyone was over it.

I sat in a shaded spot, water bottle in hand, watching my classmates who’d been baked to a crisp by the sun. Everyone looked exhausted. Whatever excitement they d had on day one-treating this like some fun field trip-had long since evaporated.

Tired. So damn tired. You could see it written on every face.

“Ha! Dude, I told you this camp was gonna wreck you! Look at you-you’re practically burnt to a crisp!” Logan’s annoying voice cut through. “Your skin can’t handle shit. Meanwhile Aria over here? She’s been out in the sun just as long and somehow looks even paler now. How’s that

even fair?”

1 sat quietly to the side, completely unbothered. I tilted my head slightly and could see Mia grabbing Logan’s ear, absolutely fuming: “Oh my God, will you shut up for once? You’re literally just as tan as I am now. And honestly? You look awful!*

Watching them bicker, I felt nothing. This kind of daily chaos was just background noise to me now.

A conversation from some nearby girls drifted into my ears.

“Hey, are you guys excited for the night shooting competition tonight?”

“Duh! My cousin did outdoor ed here last year and he said the shooting game was literally the only fun part of the whole week. I’ve been

waiting for this!”

“Speaking of shooting-Bella Morrison from the other cabin is supposed to be really good, right? I heard that’s literally how she got Kai to

notice her in the first place!”

“Oh my God, really? So she’s gonna totally show off tonight and impress him all over again?”

“Yeah, for sure. She’s like, the best shot out of all the freshmen.”

The night shooting competition… I’d heard bits and pieces about it. It was scheduled for the second-to-last day of outdoor ed, held in the big forest area behind Camp Redwood. Students would change into tactical gear and each get issued a rifle.

Of course, these weren’t real guns. They were loaded with paintball rounds Getting hit just meant you’d get marked with color-no actual harm

done.

Jake hadn’t explained the specific rules yet. The whole thing was designed to let students have fun and live out their action hero fantasies.

I didn’t care. In fact, I found it kind of boring.

Because in my previous life, firearms had been my specialty. Every type of gun imaginable-handguns, rifles, assault rifles, submachine guns, sniper rifles… If it had a model number, even discontinued vintage pieces, my personal armory had one.

I knew guns so well I could disassemble one completely and reassemble it under a minute. As for my marksmanship… a year ago, my enemies had given me a nickname that stuck: The Deadshot.

But that was all in my past life.

I sat lazily on the ground, eyes half-closed, soaking in the slanted afternoon sun. Perfectly content.

Mia and Logan seemed to have tired themselves out from arguing. They both plopped down next to me.

“Ugh, you’re such a pain, you know that?” Even exhausted, Logan had to get one last jab in at Mia.

“Hmph. Mia didn’t bother with words, just made an annoyed sound.

Sandwiched between them, I showed no signs of discomfort. Still doing my own thing, lazy and unbothered.

It was still afternoon. Jake had just given us a thirty-minute break. Soon enough we d be back to drills. Everyone was already counting down

the hours until they could go home.

Mia was so tired she literally sprawled out on the ground. She turned her head toward me, looking half-dead: “Aria, tomorrow’s the last day. When we get home, wanna hit the mall? We need to decompress after this hell week.”

Only after suffering through this mind-numbing outdoor ed experience could you truly appreciate how amazing normal life was.

Faced with Mia’s invitation, I didn’t hesitate. I nodded. “Sure.”

Just then, the thirty-minute break ended. Jake walked over to us, clapping his hands to get our attention: “Alright everyone, break time’s over!

Let’s circle up, come on!”

The other students and I gathered around him, forming a loose circle.

“Listen up! After dinner tonight, you’ve got one hour of free time before we head to the shooting range. Use it wisely-hit the bathrooms, grab snacks, whatever you need. But when that hour’s up, I want everyone back here at this exact spot. Got it?”

A few students nodded.

“I said, GOT IT? Jake’s voice got louder, more commanding.

“Yes!” everyone responded in unison.

As the group started to disperse, Jake’s eyes briefly flicked toward me when he thought no one was looking.

I caught it. He definitely remembered me-the girl who’d thrown him ove her shoulder in front of everyone on day one. His instincts probably told him I’d had formal training. Maybe even more intense training than he’d ever received.

Jake looked away quickly and raised his voice again: “Alright people, you dismissed! One hour! Don’t be late or you’re doing extra cleanup

duty tomorrow!”

The moment Jake finished speaking, students scattered like released prisoners.

‘I’m so pumped! Come on, Aria, let’s go get snacks! We need to stress-eat before this thing starts!”

The second free time was announced, Mia grabbed my arm and dragged me toward the camp store.

I knew everyone had that secret soldier fantasy. Guys wanted to be heroic warriors, girls wanted to be badass fighters. Everyone was hyped for tonight’s shooting competition. Everyone wanted to be the star.

Mia pulled me toward the store. But halfway there, I heard a chorus of praise and ass-kissing voices drifting our way.

“Bella, I heard you took actual shooting lessons at a range! That’s so badass! You’re gonna be the star of the whole competition tonight for

sure. All the guys are gonna be obsessed.”

“Right? I bet when we get back to school Monday, your locker’s gonna be flooded with love notes!”

“Can you teach us how to shoot? We’re like, total noobs at this!

I narrowed my eyes and spotted the source-Bella, preening like a peacock with her chest puffed out. Exactly as smug and self-satisfied as

those girls predicted.

She saw me too, deliberately tilting her chin up and flashing me a condescending smile.

Because she noticed me, Bella raised her voice even louder, making sure heard: “Oh stop it, you guys! I’m not that good-”

I didn’t care. I wasn’t about to waste energy on some girl who thought she was special. If I did, I’d be doing a disservice to the entire armory
