Chapter 82 *
Angelina’s POV
She didn’t like that answer. She stepped closer to Silas, her expression softening. “Silas, come on. Why are you being like this? I transferred schools for you. I just want to spend time with you.”
“Greta, I told you, I need space.”
“But-
“I gotta go. Silas turned to me. “Let’s go.”
I shrugged and started walking.
Behind us, Greta called out. “Silas! Don’t just walk away from me!”
Silas didn’t look back. We kept walking until we were far enough that her voice faded.
“Sorry about that,” Silas said.
“She’s your problem, not mine.”
“Yeah, but she’s really annoying. She’s the daughter of a beta from Canyon Pack. She’s been chasing me for months. I keep trying to avoid her, but she always finds me.”
“Why don’t you just tell her you’re not interested?”
“I did. She doesn’t listen.”
I didn’t respond. We reached the edge of the school grounds, near a cluster of trees that blocked the view from the main buildings.
I stopped and turned to face him.
“Alright,” I said. “Time for your test.”
Silas straightened up, suddenly serious. “What do I have to do?”
“Spatial manipulation isn’t just about moving stuff around.”
“I know.”
“Do you?”
He hesitated. “I mean, I know the basics.”
I leaned against the tree trunk, arms crossed. “The basics are for beginners Real spatial manipulation is about precision. You need to instantly locate your target, even if it’s behind walls or locked away. You need to move it without making a sound. Without leaving any trace of energy. The best spatial manipulators can do it so cleanly that even witnesses can tell anything happened.”

Silas nodded. “Okay.”
Your test is simple. We’re going to the principal’s office. You’re going to follow me without being seen. Then you’re going to watch me use spatial manipulation. Then you’re going to try it yourself.”
His eyes widened. “The principal’s office? But-
“If you can’t even do this, you don’t have the talent for it.”
Silas swallowed. “Okay. I can do this.”
“We’ll see.
I pushed off the tree and started walking.
We moved through the campus like shadows.
I stuck to the sides of buildings, using the shade to hide our movement. My steps were light, almost silent. I knew where the teachers usually
patrolled, knew which hallways were busy and which were empty during third period.
Silas tried to keep up. He did okay at first, but then he stepped on a dry branch. The crack echoed.
I stopped and turned to glare at him.
He froze, eyes wide.
I put a finger to my lips. Be quiet.
He nodded.
We kept moving.
The administration building was on the other side of campus. Getting there without being seen was tricky. We had to cross an open courtyard,
and there were students hanging out near the cafeteria entrance.
I waited until a group of kids walked past, then slipped across the courtyard while their backs were turned. Silas followed, staying low.
We made it to the building entrance.
I pushed the door open slowly. It didn’t creak. Good.
Inside, the hallway was empty. The principal’s office was on the second floor, up the stairs and to the right.
We climbed the stairs. Silas’s breathing was loud. I shot him another look. He tried to quiet down.
At the top of the stairs, I peeked around the corner. The hallway was clear
Principal Davis’s office was at the end of the hall. The door was closed.
I walked up to it, Silas right behind me.

Then I stopped and stared at the door.
My hand moved slightly. Just a flick of my fingers.
Inside the office, I heard a soft click. The lock disengaging.
Silas’s eyes went wide. “Did you just-
“Shh.”
I pushed the door open.
Principal Davis was sitting at his desk, reading some papers. When the door opened, he looked up.
His eyes went wide.
“You-you-what-”
I walked in like I owned the place. Silas followed, looking nervous.
“Miss Sterling?” Principal Davis stammered. “What are you doing here? How did you-
I ignored him.
My eyes locked onto a filing cabinet in the corner. The top drawer was locked.
I focused on it. Felt the space around it. Located the folder I wanted.
My fingers twitched.
The folder appeared in my hand.
Principal Davis’s jaw dropped. “Did you just-how did you-”
I turned to Silas. “Now your turn.”
Silas blinked. “What?”
“Put the folder back. Use spatial manipulation.”
“But-
“Excuse me?!” Principal Davis stood up. “This is MY office! You can’t just
I kept my eyes on Silas. “Go on.”
Silas swallowed hard. He stared at the folder in my hand, then at the filing cabinet.
He raised his hand, fingers trembling slightly.

The folder disappeared from my
hand.
But so did the coffee mug on Principal Davis’s desk.
“My coffee!” Principal Davis yelped. “Where’s my coffee?!”
The mug reappeared a second later-directly above Principal Davis’s head.
The coffee poured out, drenching his bald head.
“WHAT THE-” He jumped up, coffee dripping down his face.
I bit back a smile. “Focus, Silas. Target precision.”
Silas’s face was bright red. “I’m trying!”
He tried again. This time, the folder reappeared in the filing cabinet drawer.
But Principal Davis’s glasses vanished from his face.
They appeared on top of the filing cabinet a second later.
Principal Davis was patting his face, looking panicked. “I can’t see! Where are my glasses?!”
