Chapter 91 *
Daniel’s POV
64%
The silence that followed was deafening.
I stood frozen, my eyes locked on the six bodies lying motionless on the bor. Aria had taken them down in seconds. No hesitation. No wasted
movement, Just… efficiency.
“Holy shit, someone whispered behind me.
The crowd that had gathered kept their distance, staring at Aria like she was some kind of monster. But I couldn’t look away from those bodies.
This wasn’t a high school student. No way in hell.
My father’s words echoed in my head: “She’ll keep you safe, Daniel. Trust me on this.”
I’d thought he was being paranoid. But now… now I understood. Dad knew exactly who he was sending with me. He knew what Aria was
capable of.
Cory stood about fifteen feet away. His face was pale, but he was trying hard to look composed. Controlled. Like he wasn’t scared shitless.
Everyone in the werewolf underworld knew about Cory. Creek Pack specialized in the dirty work-trafficking, kidnapping, forced prostitution,
murder for hire. They were scum.
And right now, Cory looked like he was calculating whether he could make it out of here alive.
“You’re on Creek Pack territory,” Cory said, his voice shaking slightly. “You should remember that.”
He was right. We were in their building, surrounded by his people. If this escalated further, things could get really bad.
I glanced at Aria. “Aria,” I said quietly. “We should go.”
She didn’t respond immediately. Her eyes stayed fixed on Cory.
“Aria,” I repeated, more urgently. “Let’s leave. Now.”
Aria finally looked at me. “Fine,” she said simply.
Relief flooded through me. Thank God. I really didn’t want to see what would happen if this continued.
Cory visibly relaxed. His shoulders dropped, and he let out a breath he’d been holding.
“Smart choice,” he said, trying to sound authoritative. But his voice still trembled. “You can leave. Just… just go.”
The crowd started to shift, people backing away to clear a path.
I turned toward the exit, expecting Aria to follow. She did, falling into step beside me with that same unnervingly calm expression.
“Jesus Christ,” I muttered under my breath. “What the hell was that?”

“You hired me for protection. That’s what I provided.”
I couldn’t argue with that logic, even if the execution had been… extreme
We were maybe ten steps from the exit when I heard it.
“You think you can just walk out of here? After taking down my boys? Not a chance!”
I spun around.
Cory had a gun.
It was pointed directly at the back of Aria’s head.
Everything slowed down.

“Nobody disrespects Creek Pack on our own territory!” Cory shouted. His hand shook, making the gun waver. “You think you’re some kind of
badass? You’re just a fucking kid! I’m an Alpha! Do you understand what that means?”
The crowd erupted into chaos. People screamed. Some dropped to the floor. Others ran for cover.
‘Cory, don’t!” someone yelled.
But Cory wasn’t listening. His face was twisted with rage and humiliation is finger moved to the trigger.
“This is what happens when you disrespect me!” he screamed.
The gunshot was deafening.
I felt my heart stop. My breath caught in my throat. Women in the crowd covered their eyes, screaming. Men shook their heads, muttering about what a waste it was-someone so young, so talented, cut down because she wasn’t careful enough.
No one could dodge a bullet from behind. Not at that range. Not when they didn’t know it was coming.
Aria was dead.
She had to be.
But when I looked…
Aria’s head was tilted to the left.
Just slightly.
The bullet had missed her by less than an inch. I could see where it had embedded itself in the wall ahead-right at head height. Right where
she’d been standing a fraction of a second earlier.
She turned around slowly.
The room fell completely silent.

Cory’s gun clattered to the floor. His entire body was shaking. “No,’ he whispered. ‘No, that’s… that’s impossible. You couldn’t have… there’s no
way you could have…”
“Alpha, Trent stumbled forward. His face was sheet-white. “What… what she? How did she…?”
Another pack member grabbed Trent’s arm. ‘We need to run. We need to run right now,”
But no one moved.
Because Aria was staring at Cory.
And the look in her eyes… I’d seen dangerous people before. I’d grown up round organized crime.
The air itself seemed to change. It felt heavy, oppressive, like the atmosphere before a thunderstorm. My wolf instincts screamed at me to
submit, to bare my throat.
And I wasn’t even the target.
Cory dropped to his knees.
“Please,” he gasped. “Please, I didn’t….. I wasn’t…..”
His eyes were wide with recognition and terror. “Who are you?” he whispered. “You can’t be… you’re not just some high school student. That
aura… only the strongest Alphas… are you…?”
Aria didn’t answer. She just watched him.
Cory’s shift started without warning.
Bones cracked and reformed. His clothes tore. Within seconds, a massive gray wolf stood where he’d been kneeling.
He was going for broke. One last attempt to survive.
Aria didn’t move. She just stood there, watching him complete the transformation. Waiting.
The wolf lunged.
And then I saw them.
Two blades appeared in Aria’s palms. The wolf was fast. But Aria was faster.
She sidestepped the lunge with minimal movement, then struck. Once, twice. Both blades found their marks with surgical precision.
The wolf collapsed mid-leap, hitting the ground hard.
Cory lay on the marble floor, eyes still open, blood pooling beneath him.
I made a sound. I don’t know what it was-something between a gasp and whimper. Pure fear.
What the hell was Aria?

Trent and two other Creek Pack members rushed forward.
“Alpha! Alpha, no!” Trent dropped beside Cory’s body, his voice cracking. h God, someone call… someone…”
But I noticed something.
Trent was crying, sure. But when he thought no one was looking, there was a smile on his face. A quick flash of relief before he schooled his expression back to grief.
The other two were the same. Making the right noises, acting devastated. But their eyes told a different story.
They were happy.
Cory must have been even worse to his own pack than I’d thought. They were celebrating his death while pretending to mourn.
Under normal circumstances, I might have found that interesting. Political implications, potential alliances, all that strategic thinking my
father had drilled into me.
But right now, I couldn’t think about any of that.
I couldn’t think about anything except the girl standing five feet away from me with blood on her blades.
My entire body was rigid. I could barely breathe. I’d thought I needed to be careful. I’d thought having one bodyguard meant playing it safe,
avoiding unnecessary risks.
Instead, Aria had just killed a Pack Alpha and forced Creek Pack to find new leadership.
I finally understood the look on Uncle Robert’s face when he’d talked about her. That mixture of respect and terror.
“You coming or what?”
I jerked my head up. Aria was looking at me, her expression completely neutral. Like she hadn’t just killed three people.
‘I… yeah. Yeah, let’s go.”

My legs felt like jelly as I followed her out.
We’d arrived in this city on a flight just hours ago. The plan had been simple: attend the event, make some connections, handle some business
for my father, and head home in a few days.
First night here, and Creek Pack was already leaderless.
