Chapter 503
“I don’t think so,” Ophelia muttered, her expression turning even colder, a chill flickering in her eyes.
She figured Henry wasn’t dumb enough to mess with her again. At this point, he only had two choices: either make a run for it or find a way to save his own skin.
But Ophelia doubted Henry would actually run. If he did, he’d be nothing but a loser with nothing to his name. No way he’d ever accept that.
So, his only move was to pressure Tristan or Oliver into giving up their power, just to hold onto his spot.
Just as she finished speaking, Ophelia’s phone started ringing.
“What is it?” Ophelia answered, her voice tinged with confusion.
‘Why is Oliver’s assistant calling me?’ Ophelia wondered.
“Ms. Rowle, something’s happened to Mr. Rowle! The vice president has him hostage on the company rooftop. I’m really worried he might get hurt!” the assistant blurted out, his voice trembling with panic.
Ophelia shot to her feet. “I’m on my way.”
After hanging up, Ophelia hurried out, with Ella right on her heels.
They’d barely started piecing things together when things were already kicking off over there.
Ophelia floored it the whole way there.
“Boss, this rescue is almost impossible,” Ella said, her face turning even paler.
That building was so high that there was no way anyone would survive a fall.
Even with a safety net, survival seemed impossible.
“I’m going up to check it out,” Ophelia said, rushing into the building. Ella kept warning her along the way, “Boss, I know you’ re worried, but don’t lose your cool. He might be waiting for you to walk right into his trap.”
‘Seriously, what couldn’t be settled in the office that they had to drag it all the way up to the rooftop?’ Ella thought.
