Chapter 15
Julia’s face turned pale. She hadn’t expected Kane to find out, but instinctively, she denied it.
“Kane, what are you talking about? I didn’t say anything to Aria.”
Kane let out a cold laugh, gripping her chin tightly with his large hand.
“Still lying? If I hadn’t seen those messages, I’d never have known you were so good at acting. Playing the victim in front of me, but acting so high and mighty with Aria!”
“I’ve told you countless times that Aria is the only omega I’ve ever loved in my life and that you’re nothing more than a pet I keep for
amusement, a plaything!”
“You had a hand in Aria’s death, and I’ll make you pay for it!”
With that, his hand moved to her neck as his grip tightened with terrifying force. The veins in his arm bulged, and his aura became menacing.
Desperation for survival made Julia claw at Kane’s hand with all her strength, but he showed no sign of letting go. She looked at the face she had once adored so deeply, filled with fear like never before.
As the oxygen in her lungs ran out, she managed to squeeze out a word from her throat.
“Ch…child.”
Hearing the word “child,” Kane abruptly released his grip. She collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air, coughing violently, and her whole body
trembling with the relief of narrowly escaping death.
Kane observed her pitiful state without a trace of emotion. His mind was consumed with one thought–getting rid of this child.
To him, Julia was a constant reminder of Aria’s death. She was the culprit who had driven the love of his life to despair. The child she carried was no innocent–it only filled him with disgust.
Upon hearing Aria’s death, Julia regained her composure, and a flicker of joy lit up in her heart. She seemed to forget Kane’s terrifying
demeanor just moments ago.
Out of jealousy, she didn’t watch the live broadcast of Aria’s mating ceremony and hadn’t searched for any related news. She never imagined
such a catastrophic event would occurr during the ceremony.
All it had taken was a few provocative messages and some ambiguous photos. Aria was so sensitive and vulnerable.
But for that, Julia was grateful. Her chance had come.
She struggled to her feet, tears welling up in her eyes as she clung to Kane’s shirt, pleading desperately.
“I’ll have someone take you to the hospital and get rid of it.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he pulled out his phone and ordered his bodyguards to take her to the hospital for an abortion.
Julia’s pupils dilated. She shook her head frantically, tears streaming down her face, dripping onto the floor.
“No! This is your child, too, Kane. How can you bear to do this?”
Her face was filled with despair. She couldn’t believe Kane could be so heartless, so indifferent to the life growing inside her.
Just yesterday, he had pressed his ear to her belly, saying he wanted their baby’s first word to be “Daddy.” How could he now coldly order its removal without batting an eye?
No. She wouldn’t allow it.
“He’s a life, Kane. He’s the proof of our love. Imagine him growing up, calling you dad and me mom. Isn’t that a beautiful picture?”
She tried to appeal to Kane’s emotions. Knowing he hated being threatened, she spoke of love and family, hoping to soften his heart.
But Kane looked down at her, his expression unchanging, his tone devoid of warmth.
“Love? There’s nothing so noble between us. What we have is purely physical. The only one I’ve ever loved is Aria.”
