The bodyguards, summoned by the message, pushed the door open and entered. They grabbed the trembling Julia, preparing to follow orders and take her to the hospital.
Julia struggled desperately, but the bodyguards were professionally trained. Escaping from their grip was impossible.
As they were about to take her out the door, she screamed at Kane with all her might.
“Kane! We’ve spent so many nights together! Don’t you have any feelings for me at all? You even told me you loved me!”
Kane remained unmoved. He gestured for the bodyguards to hurry and take her to the hospital.
Julia fought fiercely along the way, trying to call for help from the doctors and nurses once they arrived. But this hospital was a private facility under Kane’s corporation, so naturally, they followed his orders without question.
She was strapped to the operating table. As the anesthesia was injected, her struggles weakened, and she gradually lost consciousness.
When she woke up again, a dull ache weighed heavily in her lower abdomen. She moved slightly, and the pain confirmed the truth–her child was gone.
Her eyes, once lively, were now devoid of light. She stared blankly at the ceiling, her spirit utterly crushed.
Kane, after confirming with the doctor that the miscarriage was complete, made his way to her bedside.
“When you’re discharged, leave this city. I don’t want to see you again.”
Every time he looked at her, he was reminded of his betrayal and of Aria’s suicide. The pain in his heart was unbearable, like a blade twisting
“Our first night together–I didn’t beg for it, did I? You couldn’t resist the temptation and pinned me beneath you.”
“And just a few days ago, you were the one who agreed to bring me back to your house. You were the one who came down to my room in the
middle of the night. I never forced you to do anything.”
“As for Aria’s suicide–it was all because of you. You’re the one who drove her to her death!”
Kane had always known, deep down, that his betrayal was the true reason behind Aria’s death. But hearing it spoken so plainly–it was like a dagger plunging into his heart all over again, leaving it bleeding and raw.
