Phoenix Rising A Mate’s Revenge novel Chapter 3

## Chapter 3

Aria took a deep breath, suppressing the ache in her chest. Just as she got up to leave, a pair of large hands encircled her, pulling her into a firm embrace.

The scent of pine enveloped her—Kane’s scent, rich and intense, laced with an unmistakable possessiveness.

“My little wolf, why didn’t you wait for me? Bad mood today?” His voice was low, coaxing. “How about I take you to see your dress? The custom one is ready.”

Kane held her tightly, his hand lightly stroking the back of her neck, where his marking lay—a symbol of his claim on her.

“I don’t want to go. You can decide about the dress,” she replied flatly.

On the day of the mate ceremony, she would be gone. There was no way she’d be wearing that dress.

It was you who betrayed us first. You were the one who trampled our bond into the dirt, the one who made me stop believing in this ceremony,” she thought.

And now, what right did he have to ask her this?

But Aria wasn’t ready to confront him—not yet.
