In the kitchen, Wyatt was standing near the stove, cooking a large pot of homemade food while one of the maids helped him prepare the ingredients. Standing beside them were Hannah and Oliver, both wearing matching Christmas aprons that made them look even younger than they already were.
Oliver was Eleanor and Wyatt’s third son, and he was the same age as Hannah, though technically he was a few months older than her.
It was funny when I thought about it.
Back when I was pregnant, Eleanor had also been pregnant at the same time without even realizing it. Her body had always been slim, and her stomach barely showed any signs until she was already five months along. She had only noticed because she thought she had gained a little weight. 1
Oliver had grown into a wonderful boy over the years.
He looked so much like Wyatt that sometimes it felt like I was watching Wyatt’s younger version walking around the house. And just like his father, he loved cooking more than anything.
At that moment, Oliver was helping Hannah carry plates from the counter to the table.
Every time he stepped closer to her, Hannah’s face would flush bright red, though she tried her best to pretend she wasn’t affected at all. Meanwhile Oliver seemed completely clueless, simply focusing on helping her whenever she struggled to hold too many things at once.
I covered my mouth as a quiet chuckle escaped me.
They were adorable together.
Of course, the future was unpredictable and I had no idea what their lives would eventually become, but the thought of Oliver becoming my son–in–law one day made me happy.
If that ever happened, Eleanor and Wyatt would technically become my in–laws too.
That thought alone almost made me laugh out loud.
As if sensing the same thing, Wyatt suddenly glanced toward the two teenagers with a thoughtful look on his face, the exact same expression I imagined I probably had just a moment ago.
I turned my attention away and my gaze shifted toward the living room instead.
There, Theodore was standing near the large Christmas tree while Lucas and Liana busily arranged decorations across the table.
They were no longer the little children I remembered from years ago.
Lucas and Liana were twenty–one now, tall and mature, their childish features slowly replaced by confident adult expressions. Yet despite growing up, some things about them had never really changed.
“Lucas, don’t put that there. How many times do I have to tell you that?” Liana said impatiently as she lightly smacked her brother on the head.
Lucas immediately pouted while rubbing the spot she hit.
“Okay, okay,” he muttered dramatically.
I couldn’t help laughing quietly.
Even after all these years, they still argued like little kids.

Theodore stood nearby holding a wrapped Christmas gift in his hands, looking, completely lost as he stared at the decorations
around him.
He raised the box slightly and asked, “Can I put this here?”
Liana glanced at him before smiling. “Yes, Uncle Theodore. You can put it anywhere.”
Theodore grinned proudly after placing the gift exactly where Liana had pointed, clearly satisfied with his decision as if he had just completed a very important task.
Lucas stared at the spot for a moment before throwing his hands slightly in the air in disbelief.
“Hey, that is literally the same place I said to put it earlier,” he complained, his voice filled with frustration.
Liana simply shrugged as if his opinion had never mattered in the first place. Instead of answering him, she walked closer to Theodore with sparkling eyes that looked suspiciously excited.
“Uncle,” she said eagerly, lowering her voice as if discussing something extremely important, “have you made the autographs I asked for?”
Theodore nodded confidently, crossing his arms with the self–satisfied air of a celebrity who knew exactly how adored he was.
“Don’t worry,” he replied with a casual smile. “I made twenty extra just in case.”
Liana’s eyes widened immediately and her smile grew even brighter.
“You’re the best, Uncle!”
Theodore laughed proudly at her praise and shrugged.
“I know, right?”
Lucas looked at the two of them for a moment as if he was witnessing a conversation between two completely insane people before shaking his head in defeat and returning his attention to arranging the decorations on the table.
Theodore had been the most famous actor in the world for years now, adored by millions of fans everywhere he went, yet whenever he was at home with us he still acted exactly the same as he always had, joking around and behaving like an ordinary older brother who enjoyed teasing everyone around him.
It was strangely comforting.
I slowly shifted my gaze away from them and looked toward another corner of the room where Ryan was sat with Eleanor.
Eleanor looked like a serious student attending an important lecture.
She was holding a small notepad in her hands while listening carefully to everything Ryan said, occasionally writing something down with a focused expression on her face.
Two years ago Eleanor had finally graduated from medical school, and she was now working as a resident doctor at Ryan’s hospital.
Being a doctor had always been her dream.
Back then she had been too afraid to pursue it, believing that life had already pushed her in another direction, but after I spent months convincing her that she deserved to follow the path she truly wanted, she finally decided to apply to medical school. Now she was exactly where she had always wanted to be. And like many young doctors, she admired Ryan greatly.
Whenever she had the opportunity, she asked him endless questions about medical cases, treatments, and difficult surgeries. What surprised me the most was that Ryan, who normally disliked being surrounded by too many people, bactually took his time to answer her patiently.

Watching them talk now, it almost looked like a mentor guiding his student.

My eyes drifted away again and moved toward the couch where my mother and Apollo’s father were sitting with the younger
kids.
Both of them had grown older over the years. Their hair had turned white, but their energy when they were with their grandchildren had not faded at all.
If anything, it had only gotten worse.
My mother and Adam Reed had become close friends over the years, something I never would have imagined when I first met them. The bitterness between the Jones and Reed families had slowly disappeared with time, replaced by something much
warmer.
Now they spent most holidays together.
Of course, there was still one problem.
They both absolutely adored children.
Which meant that whenever the grandchildren were around, the two of them competed shamelessly for their attention like
children themselves.
Right now they were arguing about which Christmas hat looked better.
“This one is clearly cuter,” my mother insisted while holding a fluffy red hat above one of the triplets‘ heads.
Adam immediately disagreed and grabbed a green one.
“No, this one is better. The color suits him more.”
The triplets were giggling while Hannah tried to stop them from spoiling the boys too much.
I couldn’t stop the warm smile that spread across my face.
This was my family.
