Please Me Daddy (Gracie) novel Chapter 240

Bonus chapter

Grace

The first thing I saw when I walked down the aisle was a pair of beautiful hazel eyes. They locked onto me immediately, so intensely that it felt as if the entire world around us had disappeared, leaving only the two of us standing there.

My heart skipped a beat.

Apollo Reed was staring at me as if I was the only thing that existed in his universe.

For a moment, I almost forgot how to breathe. It was finally happening.

I was getting married, and not just to anyone. I was getting married to the man who could change the course of an entire country with a single word. The man whose name alone could make powerful people tremble. The man that the world respected and feared in equal measure.

Apollo Reed.

The man I had once thought was colder than ice. The man I now could no longer imagine living without.

My fingers tightened around the bouquet in my hands, and only then did I realize that my palms were sweating. My heart was pounding so loudly inside my chest that I was certain everyone around me could hear it.

I had no idea what was wrong with me. It wasn’t fear. I wasn’t scared of getting married today. In fact, I had been looking forward to this moment more than anything else.

I wanted to marry him, but for some strange reason, my legs refused to move. Maybe it was the way Apollo was looking at me.

His gaze was completely fixed on me, almost transfixed, as if he had never seen anything or anyone more beautiful in his entire life. His expression was calm as always, but there was something else in his eyes, something so intense that it made my heart flutter uncontrollably.

He even looked like he had forgotten to breathe.

I swallowed softly and licked my lips, suddenly unsure what to do. Just when I was starting to panic, I felt a gentle touch on my arm. I turned my head and looked at my mother. She was smiling at me warmly, her eyes shining with affection and pride.

Having cold feet?she asked teasingly. If you don’t want to get married, we can walk away right now.

I won’t let anyone force you to marry if you don’t want to. You’re my precious daughter. You can do whatever you want. She paused before adding with a small playful sigh, Honestly, I still think you’re too perfect for the Reeds.

I blinked at her words before immediately shaking my head.

No,I said quickly. It’s not that.

My voice softened as I admitted the truth.I want to get married. I really want to.

My mother looked at me for a moment before her smile widened.

I know you do, I’m just teasing you. I know you want to marry the love of your life. You’re just nervous, and that’s completely normal. I was nervous too when I married your father. But it’s okay, my dear. Take your time.

She glanced toward the altar where Apollo was still standing. From what I’ve seen, even if it takes a thousand years, Apollo will still wait for you.

My heart melted instantly at her words.

I turned my head again and looked at him. He hadn’t moved, tried to rush me, or shown even the slightest impatience. He was

simply standing there, watching me quietly, waiting for me to come to him whenever I was ready.

A soft smile appeared on my face.

You’re right,I murmured to my mother. He really is that kind of person.

I turned back to her and squeezed her hand gently. “Thank you, Mom.

She nodded lovingly, though I could see that she was trying very hard not to cry. Taking a slow breath, I lifted my gaze once more and looked at Apollo, then I finally started walking toward him.

His eyes never left me. They followed every step I took.

As I continued walking down the aisle, I could feel every pair of eyes in the room slowly turning toward me.

Soft murmurs began spreading through the guests, quiet whispers filled with admiration and disbelief.

Oh God, look at her, someone whispered somewhere in the crowd. She is gorgeous.

Another voice quickly responded. I know, right? At first I thought she was the lucky one for marrying a man like Apollo Reed, but it’s actually the other way around. He is the lucky one to have a woman like her.

Several other guests nodded in agreement, their eyes still fixed on me, but I didn’t pay attention to them. My focus was only on the man standing at the end of the aisle. Step by step, I walked toward Apollo, my heart beating steadily in my chest as the distance between us slowly disappeared.

When I finally reached him, I lifted my head slightly and looked up at him through the thin veil covering my face.

Even with the veil between us, I could still see him clearly, and he still looked just as breathtaking as he always had.

Apollo hadn’t taken his eyes off me even once since I started walking toward him. He was still staring at me now, as if completely lost in the moment.

Apollo,my mother suddenly said softly. Her voice finally pulled him out of his daze. Apollo blinked once before shifting his gaze toward her.

My mother gently took my hand and placed it into his.

The two of you have suffered for a long time, but with the two of you together, I’m sure you will both be happy. She paused for a moment before continuing. Please take care of my daughter, and stay together for many, many years.

Her eyes began turning red as the emotions she had been holding back finally surfaced. She tried to remain strong, but her voice trembled slightly as tears filled her eyes. Never make my child cry,

Apollo looked at her seriously before tightening his hold on my hand.

A small but sincere smile appeared on his face. I will take care of her, Mrs. Jones.

My mother nodded slowly, wiping at her tears before stepping back, then she turned around and walked toward her seat. I watched her go with a gentle smile. I knew how much it meant to her to walk me down the aisle today. But I also knew that deep inside, she wished my father could have been the one to do it.

I felt grateful. I had a family that loved me.

That was more than enough.
