“Shut up. Stop talking” Julia cried out, unable to hold back when she saw her husband being so blatantly provoked and insulted.
Victoria shrugged and looked at Calvin. “Calvin, are you going to take the bait or not?”
This time, Calvin didn’t hesitate. “Alright, we’ll do it your dad’s way. If your uncle can’t turn things around at Binder Pharma Group in six months, your dad will take over the company.
“And as for the 10% shares of Binder Pharma Group, those shares are yours.”
“Dad…” Darell started, but Calvin cut him off.
“Enough. This mess is all Curtis’s fault. Let this be a lesson to you all.”
Julia was so mad that she could cough up blood.
As if her son possibly becoming a vegetable from the accident wasn’t bad enough, she’d come here to give Victoria a piece of her mind, only to end up watching helplessly as Calvin handed over 10% of Binder Pharma Group’s shares to Victoria.
“Guess it’s my turn now,” Jackson said, an amused smirk on his face as he glanced at Darell and Julia.
Darell and Julia were stunned. They’d been so busy dealing with Victoria, they’d completely forgotten about Jackson–the real big shot in the room.
Once Darell realized, he quickly turned to Jackson, plastering on a strained smile. “My son’s reckless behavior put you in danger, Mr. Thornton. Just tell us how you want us to make it up to you.”
Jackson thought for a moment, a relaxed smile curling at his lips. “I don’t need money, so there’s really nothing you can offer me. Curtis is still out cold, so he can’t answer for anything.
“Vickie is my fiancée now. We’re in this together, for better or worse. So if you want to make it up to me, just give whatever compensation you have to her.”
He paused, still looking completely unbothered as he went on, “I heard you’re planning to hand over Brightstar Entertainment’s management to Vickie next month, Mr. Binder.
“But most of the shares are still in your hands. I’m sure Simon and the others are still hoping for a comeback. If Vickie doesn’t deliver at Brightstar, they’ll have another shot at snatching it back.” \
By now, Darell could pretty much guess what Jackson was getting at, and his expression soured, like he’d just tripped on the sidewalk and ended up with a mouthful of dirt.
But even so, he didn’t dare say a word against Jackson.
“It’s not that I don’t trust you, Mr. Binder,” Jackson said, his voice light but effortlessly authoritative. “But as Vickie’s fiancé, I really don’t want her getting screwed over by the Binder family.
“So, just to be safe, I’d like you to transfer the shares of Brightstar Entertainment to Vickie as well.”
Even in a wheelchair, Jackson had a commanding presence that no one could ignore.
Calvin had to admit that Jackson was a true legend in the business world–a force to be reckoned with.
Compared to him, his two grandsons couldn’t even come close. They weren’t at the top of their fields yet, but their

arrogance was off the charts.
‘Man, if only Jackson were my grandson, Calvin thought.
With someone like him, the Binder family would be a top–tier powerhouse in Benwig City before long!

His granddaughter was certainly talented–at least she seemed better than Curtis and Simon. But in the end, she was still a
woman.
Calvin thought, ‘No matter how capable a woman is, she’ll eventually have to get married and have kids. Once she has children, her attention will inevitably shift to her family.
‘Maybe she’ll achieve something for now, but in a city like Benwig, packed with heavy hitters, if she ever takes a break, how much can she really accomplish if she tries to start over?‘
Daisy and Hector exchanged a look, now absolutely sure that Jackson was genuinely devoted to Victoria.
Julia was so mad she could practically pass out.
Back when they learned Angelica was going to marry Jackson, their whole family was ecstatic. It was all about his status. They wanted someone whose word was law.
on and the Thornton family backing them, nothing in Benwig City would ever stand in their way.
the marriage was off, and Jackson’s backing was handed to Victoria, the last person Julia wanted to see benefit from was about ready to explode.
hat really drove Julia crazy was that there was still no news from Gerry Thornton. ‘Could it be that Gerry really plans to let
n, with his legs crippled, inherit the whole Thornton family empire?‘ she thought.
Calvin asked, trying to sound reasonable, “So, Jackson, how many shares of Brightstar Entertainment would make you willing to let this whole thing slide?”
Jackson answered straight up, “Compared to Binder Pharma Group, Brightstar Entertainment doesn’t really count for much. in the Binder family’s portfolio. So, 30% of the shares should do it.”
If it weren’t Jackson saying this, Darell would’ve blurted out, ‘What do you mean, “that’s about right“?”
Sure, Brightstar Entertainment wasn’t worth nearly as much as Binder Pharma Group, but handing over 30% of the shares in one go was still a massive chunk.
Victoria was happily snacking on grapes, thinking to herself, ‘Is this what they mean by hitting the jackpot without even lifting a finger?‘
She didn’t really need the money, but seeing her fiancé Jackson and her cool dad Darell going all out to secure her interests made her genuinely happy–a kind of joy that had nothing to do with cash.
‘Man, these two are seriously awesome.‘ Victoria thought.
Calvin glanced at Victoria in the hospital bed, paused for a moment of deep thought, then finally nodded. “Alright, I’ll make sure the share transfers for both companies go through as quickly as possible.”
Jackson flashed a satisfied smile. “Perfect. Appreciate it, Mr. Binder.”

“And don’t go pulling the same insane moves Curtis did against his own family. If this gets out, every powerful family in Benwig City will have a field day laughing at us.”
“Curtis is one of Brightstar’s artists, and now he’s in a coma because of the accident, Simon, make sure the PR is handled. Don’t let this turn into a scandal.”
With that, Calvin left the room, Milton trailing behind him.
Darell and Julia were seething, with nowhere to vent their anger. They’d come here to give Victoria a piece of their mind, but not only did they leave with nothing, but they also had to sit there and watch Victoria rake it in after that car accident.
Victoria caught their bitter glares and couldn’t resist rubbing it in. “Oh man, that accident really paid off.”
Julia was so mad she was dying to shut Victoria up for good.
Darell snorted, kept his mouth shut, and walked out of the hospital room.
Just as Julia was about to head out, Victoria piped up behind her, “Hey Julia, I bet the doctors told you to keep talking to Curtis so he’s got a better shot at waking up, right?
“If you ask me, you should totally tell him all about how messing with my brakes ended up helping me score a bunch of company shares for free.
“Who knows, maybe he’ll get so mad he snaps out of his coma right then and there. At least you won’t walk away empty- handed, huh?”
