Once they were in the car, Daisy couldn’t help but laugh. “Victoria, you’re still as mischievous as ever. Your words just now nearly made your aunt crush her lunchbox.”
Victoria shot back, “Mom, did you see the way she looked at me? It was like she wanted to murder me with her eyes. I’m not someone who just puts up with that. Why should I let her throw a fit and act like I don’t have a temper too?”
Daisy loved that about her. At least Victoria knew how to stand up for herself.
On the way, Victoria called Simon.
“Did you finish setting up the herb garden for me?” she asked.
Simon’s voice sounded reluctant on the other end. “Yeah, it’s done.”
“Alright, wait for me at the herb garden. I want to inspect it,” Victoria said.
“Okay,” Simon replied.
Daisy, sitting beside her, was totally confused. With Curtis in such a mess, she couldn’t understand how Simon, as his big brother, was still at Victoria’s beck and call.
‘I really have no clue what kind of spell Victoria put on Simon. It’s just too bizarre. Daisy thought.

Back at Goldenwood Villa, as soon as Victoria stepped into her room, Blackie, Whitey, and Greenie, who’d been waiting for her, having sensed her arrival, slithered over and started twining around her ankles.
“Missed me, huh?” Victoria said with a grin.
The three little snakes bobbed their heads together.
Victoria took out some freeze–dried spiders from the cabinet, fed each of them two, then made her way to the herb garden Simon had cleared for her.
Simon was already there, his face blank. “Go ahead, inspect it,” he said.
The herb garden was all set up exactly as Victoria had planned, with a neat fence around it and a gate for easy access.
Victoria couldn’t help but tease, “Simon, you were just being humble before, huh? This herb garden looks pretty professional.
‘You’ve got some real farming chops. If you ever miss out on inheriting Brightstar Entertainment, you can always be my gardener.”
Simon shot her a cold look. “Don’t insult me, okay?”
Victoria feigned surprise. “Hey, I thought I was praising you.”
Simon took a deep breath and muttered, “Save your compliments.”
Victoria shrugged. “Fine, I’ll just say it. You’re a total loser. Brightstar Entertainment is never coming back to you. But if you behave, maybe I’ll let you be my herb garden manager.”

Suddenly, she heard footsteps in the hallway, then the doorknob started to turn.
‘Damn it. Someone’s coming Angelica thought.

Angelica, flustered, snatched the syringe out and, not even bothering to reassemble the lipstick, tossed it into her bag in a rush.
The door opened, and Simon walked in.
Noticing Angelica’s tense expression, Simon frowned. “Angelica, what’s wrong? You look really pale
Angelica tried to calm her racing heartbeat, smoothed her hair, and forced a smile. “It’s nothing,
“I was just reminiscing with Curtis about how he used to look after me and protect me when we were kids. Seeing him unconscious now just makes me feel a bit sad.”

cing Simon’s gaze, Angelica casually pulled her bag closed. Then she looked up with a bright smile and said, “Simon, Why are you at the hospital so late?
“Shouldn’t you be swamped at work these days? Honestly, I’ve got Curtis covered tonight, so you don’t need to worry.”

Simon finally limped out of the herb garden.

Once he was out of sight, Simon finally breathed a sigh of relief. ‘Lucky for me the theft failed. If Victoria wasn’t just threatening me, and I’d grabbed the wrong medicine, who knows what would’ve happened.
From now on, he knew he had to be even more cautious when it came to anything about the antidote.
Victoria watched Simon limp away in a hurry and let out a soft scoff. ‘He really hasn’t learned his lesson yet, she thought.
With that, she strolled out of the herb garden, looking totally unbothered.
That evening, after dinner, Victoria headed to the garage, grabbed a new car, and drove off to Benwig City’s biggest auction house.
“Miss Binder, back again so soon? Did you bring another batch of treasures?” Alexis’s eyes lit up when he saw Victoria, like he’d just spotted a gold mine.
Victoria smiled. “The rare herbs I brought you last time still haven’t been sold, right? They haven’t gone up for auction yet?”
Alexis replied honestly, “I haven’t started the auction yet. Those three herbs you gave me are so rare and precious.
“I need to wait for the perfect timing, and for the right buyer to show up. The higher the price, the bigger my commission, you know?”
Victoria grinned. “You really are a savvy businessman, Mr. White.”
Alexis gave a fawning smile. “Oh, you flatter me, Miss Binder. So, if you didn’t bring any herbs this time, what can I do for you today?”
Victoria said, “Last time, didn’t you say Simon was hunting for the poison master?”
Alexis nodded. “Yeah, you told me not to let Simon know back then. So now you want to meet him after all?”
ictoria flashed a sly grin. “That’s right. Could you do me a favor and let Simon know? The poison master will be at the
tion this weekend. And make sure you put one of those herbs up for auction while we’re there.”
