After going through the guest list, Jackson sent Victoria a message.

Jackson had expected her to be this chill, so he replied with a joke.

Right after the message, he sent a photo of his family registration documents.

Victoria stared at the photo, wondering if Gavin was just flexing that he was now the Fairbank family’s young expert, or if he actually meant to whisk her off and get married for real.

The second daughter, Helen Thornton, married a self–made businessman. The couple worked together, first investing in real estate and riding the market boom, then smartly switching to the education sector, and eventually founding a high–end private elementary school in Benwig City.

They made a decent living there and had just one daughter, Annie Thornton.

The third son, Thomas Thornton, managed the Thornton family’s non–ferrous metals business in Avora. It was risky but lucrative venture. He had a daughter, Faye Thornton, and a son, Xavier Thornton.

The fourth son, Ryan Thornton, was in charge of the booming EV sector, focusing on high–end models and smart driving technology. He had two sons, Felix Thornton and Pierre Thornton.

Jackson’s father, Donald Thornton, was Gerry’s youngest son, and honestly, the family underachiever.

Jackson had even made notes in the dossier about where each of his aunts and uncles stood with him.

Helen kept out of the family drama, but Nancy was on good terms with Ryan, which meant Ryan’s EV company scored plenty of local government backing. Thomas was a tough customer. He was ruthless, shrewd, and he just couldn’t stand Jackson

To be exact, Thomas just couldn’t stomach the fact that the little brother he’d always looked down on, Donald, ended up with most of the Thornton family fortune. All because he had a genius for a son. Now, whether Thomas got the share or just the scraps in the Thornton family depended entirely on Jackson’s say–so.

Victoria now had a basic understanding of the Thornton family’s situation. The real test would be the engagement party on Saturday.

She put on a fake sympathetic face and continued, “Honestly, Victoria, I’m genuinely worried for you. If Jack ever gets back on his feet, he might just toss you aside. All the effort you’re putting into him now will leave you with nothing in the end.”
