When Cassian arrived at the agreed–upon spot, he found not only Angelica, but Simon was there in the private room as well.

He didn’t want too many people knowing about his plan to deal with Victoria, and he was a bit annoyed that Angelica had brought Simon along without asking him first.

Secing Cassian frown, Angelica hurried to explain, “Cassian, honestly, I don’t really know how to handle someone like Victoria, so I brought my big brother here to talk with you.”

To prove what Angelica said, Simon pulled a few sheets of paper from a file folder, laid them out on the table, and slid them over. ‘I’ve got a dossier on Victoria’s past. Thought you might find it useful.”

Only then did Cassian slowly sit down across from Simon and pick up the documents.

Simon probed, “Tomorrow’s engagement party is at the Thornton family’s place, and I wouldn’t dare stir up trouble there. So this dossier will only be truly useful in your hands when it comes to dealing with Victoria. And I know, Cassian, you probably don’t want Victoria to actually heal Jackson’s leg, do you?”

Cassian shot Simon a wary look. “Simon, don’t talk nonsense. Jackson is my brother. Of course I want his leg to recover. I’m ust targeting Victoria, that’s all.”

Simon didn’t expose his real thoughts. Instead, he said, “These are some things from Victoria’s past that nobody knows about. How you use them is up to you.”

Cassian lowered his gaze and carefully reviewed the documents Simon had handed him.

After reading them, he was first taken aback, then got lost in thought.

Even though his father had told him not to deal with Victoria himself, saying the Binder family would take care of her, just emembering how arrogant and rude she’d been today, and imagining what would happen if she really managed to heal ackson’s leg, he couldn’t help but worry.

He was determined to give her a lesson she’d never forget, one that would haunt her for life.

Angelica watched the scene unfold, a faint smile tugging at her lips. ‘Victoria, this time, there’s no way you’ll get off so easy.

After wrapping up his meeting with Angelica and Simon, Cassian quickly called his crew. “Tonight, get me all kinds of poisonous snakes and scorpions, bring as many as you can find!”

After hanging up, Cassian didn’t head straight back to the Thornton family. Instead, he drove over to the Fairbank family in Benwig City.

The dossier didn’t just cover Victoria’s shady past. It also brought up a relationship she used to have.

The guy she was involved with was Gavin, who had only recently returned to the Fairbank family.

At 10:30 PM, at the Fairbank family residence in Benwig City, Gavin, already in his robe, stepped out the front door. When he spotted Cassian waiting for him, he frowned. “Who are you? What do you want?”

Cassian introduced himself, “I’m Cassian Thornton from the Thornton family.”

Gavin just gave a careless “oh,” clearly not interested. “Cassian? I’ve never heard of you. The only Thornton I’ve heard of is ackson, the cripple who’s about to get engaged to Victoria.”

Cassian’s face darkened at the insult, but since he needed something from Gavin tonight, he forced a polite smile and got straight to the point. “Gavin, I heard you and Victoria were involved for a while.”

At the mention of Victoria, Gavin’s eyes instantly lit up. “Yeah, what’s it to you?”

So, you want Victoria, huh?” Cassian said, his tone sly and a little provocative as he eyed Gavin.

Gavin gave him a look like he was stating the obvious, rolling his eyes. “Obviously. What, you came all the way here just to help me snag Victoria?”

That’s what I wanted to hear, Cassian thought, a smirk appearing on his lips. He nodded. “That’s right. If I can help you make her yours, are you in?”

Gavin nodded without hesitation. “Of course I’m in. Just tell me what you need me to do.”

A sly glint flashed in Cassian’s eyes as he leaned in and lowered his voice. “Picture this. If at the engagement party, all the guests catch you and Victoria alone together in a compromising situation, do you really think she could still marry my brother after that? She’d be forced to marry you instead.”

Gavin was stunned for a moment, then his face lit up as he clapped his hands. “Genius! That’s a killer plan! Once her reputation is trashed, she’ll have to choose me! Hahaha…”

Cassian grinned and warned, “Don’t get too excited yet. Tomorrow, I’ll make sure you get the perfect shot, but after that, it’s all up to you.”

Gavin’s smile faltered as he suddenly remembered, “Wait, I never got an invite for tomorrow’s engagement party

Cassian pulled an invitation from his pocket. “Here, this is your invitation for tomorrow.”

Gavin’s eyes sparkled as he grabbed the invitation and gave Cassian a solid slap on the shoulder. “Man, you’re a real bro! Thanks for going through all this for me!”

Then, he suddenly paused and shot Cassian a suspicious look. “Hold up. Why are you helping me out of nowhere?”

Cassian nearly coughed from the force of the slap, but he bit back the pain and managed a smile. “Honestly, I’m just trying to help my brother. He doesn’t care for Victoria, but he can’t get out of this engagement.”

Gavin gave a casual “oh,” then grinned, “So that’s how it is! Man, you’re really looking out for your brother!”

For some reason, Cassian felt like there was something off about the way Gavin called him a ‘real brother.‘ But seeing how clueless Gavin looked, he figured he was just overthinking it. Cassian smiled, “Jackson’s always been good to me. Helping him out is the least I can do.”

Gavin looked at Cassian with anticipation. “Alright, got it. I’ll make sure to back you up tomorrow.”

Now that everything was settled, Cassian grinned. “Alright, I’ll head out. I don’t want to mess with your sleep.”

“Take it easy, bro!” Gavin called out, waving his hand high.

Watching Cassian’s car disappear, Gavin scowled at the taillights and muttered, “That dumbass from the Thornton family is obviously here to screw me over! Wants me to pull some stunt with Victoria at the engagement party and make it look like we’ve slept together? Does he take me for a fool? If drugging her was all it took to seal the deal, I would’ve done it ages ago. I don’t need him to teach me how!”
