That remark was so disruptive that it instantly drew the attention of all the guests present, and everyone turned to look at the man who had just walked in from the entrance.
Gavin was rocking a perfectly tailored white suit and carrying a huge bouquet of red roses. He walked in like he owned the place, instantly grabbing everyone’s attention.
Victoria snatched the mic from Jackson, her face stone-cold. “Gavin, get out of here. Since when do I need your approval to get engaged?”
Gavin gazed at Victoria with obvious affection, his voice ringing with determination. “I’m not going anywhere unless you break off your engagement with Jackson right now!”
The guests in the audience started whispering among themselves again.
‘Isn’t that Gavin, the guy the Fairbank family just brought back recently?”
“Yeah, what’s going on?”
‘Looks like he and Victoria have some secret history together.”
‘Could it be they’re still hooking up behind Jackson’s back? If that’s true, Jackson’s totally getting played.”
Gavin shouted, “Jackson, you’re just a broken man now. You can’t walk right, and you can’t have kids! Marrying Victoria would only ruin her chance at happiness! If you still think you’re a real man, be a man and let her go. Let her chase real happiness, and I’m the one who can give her that!”
As Gavin spoke passionately, he made his way up to the stage.
The guests kept whispering among themselves.
Is it true Jackson can’t have kids?”
“Not sure, but you know what they say. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”
“That means his chances of inheriting the Thornton family are practically zero. Gerry would never let a grandson who can’t have kids become the heir.”
Jackson caught a glimpse of Cassian stepping out from behind the curtain, but his expression stayed perfectly calm.
Back at the Binder family’s VIP table, Daisy was fuming at Gavin’s sudden appearance and his attempt to ruin the party. “Who the hell invited that Fairbank brat?”
Hector’s eyes were dark as he said, “It definitely wasn’t Victoria or Jackson. Someone must’ve let him in on purpose, just to stir up trouble at the engagement party.”
Daisy cursed, “That’s downright malicious!”
Simon and Angelica shared a smug look, both smiling as if their plan had worked. They didn’t doubt this was Cassian’s handiwork. But this was just the appetizer. The real chaos was still to come.
Julia was practically ready to burst into applause, shooting a smug look at Daisy and Hector, who looked like they’d just bitten into a sour apple. “Hector, Daisy, didn’t I call it? Victoria’s engagement party is a total train wreck. Her ex just barged

in to stir up drama. Making a scene at the Binder family’s place was bad enough, but now he’s crashing the Thornton family’s party too.”
Daisy was already pissed, and Julia’s taunting just made her snap. She shot back, “Julia, why don’t you watch your mouth for once? You never learn that your words are gonna get you in trouble, huh? Are you just determined to dig your own grave?”
Julia sputtered, furious. “Daisy, you…”
Hector jumped in right away to defend his wife. “Julia, wasn’t Darell embarrassed enough in front of Mr. Cooke earlier? Or are you hoping he’ll make an even bigger fool of himself tonight?”
Darell’s face darkened visibly as he shot a glare at Sirena, his eyes full of resentment. ‘If I hadn’t fallen for Sirena’s lies, I wouldn’t have gone to Mr. Cooke so full of myself, only to get humiliated in front of everyone!’
Watching Hector jump to defend Daisy, Sirena felt a sour twinge of envy in her chest.
She used to look down on her big brother, thinking he was just some useless rich kid with zero ambition, happy to stick to his tiny patch of family turf. His wife couldn’t have kids, and he still wouldn’t divorce her, basically blocking the Binder family’s legacy.
What the hell is Gavin playing at?’
Angelica felt a knot in her stomach. ‘Seriously, what’s Cassian playing at? If he wanted to use Gavin to embarrass Victoria, didn’t he even bother to coordinate with him first?‘
Watching the chaos, Faye teased, “Xavier, looks like there’s another Thornton who’s shooting himself in the foot, just like you did. But seriously, isn’t Cassian’s own brother? If he really brought Gavin here to mess up the engagement party, what exactly is he after?”

Xavier finally snapped, “Faye, will you just let it go? I only tripped up with Victoria once, and you just can’t stop bringing it up!”
Faye quickly raised her hands in mock surrender. “Alright, alright, I’ll stop. I’ll just sit back and watch the drama unfold.”
Her attitude just made Xavier even more annoyed. ‘Seriously, does she think I’m the one making a fuss here?’
After giving Pierre a look to calm down, Felix shot a glance at Xavier and deliberately said, “Looks like Cassian’s got his eye on the Thornton family heir spot too.”
Xavier let out a cold laugh. “That idiot? He’s even dumber than Pierre. If it weren’t for Jackson, he wouldn’t even have made it back to the Thornton family.”
Faye let out a snicker, and when she caught Pierre’s furious glare, she raised her hands in mock surrender. “This time, I’m not the one bringing up your embarrassing past.”
Pierre was left speechless, once again humiliated in front of everyone. ‘Alright, I’ll put up with it for now. Once Felix becomes the Thornton family heir, I’ll get back at these two for sure.
With all the guests staring at him suspiciously, Cassian shouted, “Mr. Fairbank, I’ve got nothing against you, so don’t you dare slander me with your baseless accusations!”
Gavin scoffed, “Come on. You know I don’t have any grudge against you, so what would I get out of making stuff up? You handed me the invitation yourself, and the cameras at our front gate got it all on tape.”
Ignoring the look Cassian was giving him, Gavin kept his eyes locked on Victoria and Jackson up on stage. “Victoria, last night Cassian came to me out of the blue and invited me to your engagement party with Jackson.”
