On stage, Victoria watched the sudden turn of events, then exchanged a glance with Jackson.

Just as she had predicted, Cassian had gotten his hands on her bizarre history dealing with venomous creatures from Simon, and he was definitely planning to make a scene at the engagement party.

If he wanted the chaos to be big enough, he’d have to make sure someone actually drew blood.

After all, everyone attending tonight was either wealthy or influential. If even one guest got hurt, Victoria would be held responsible.

“Cassian went further than I expected,” Victoria explained. “I tried to take control of the venomous creatures at first, but they must have been fed something beforehand to drive them mad. Even for me, it’s going to take real effort to get them under control.”

“If people actually die and Cassian pins it on me, not even nine lives would be enough to pay for it.”

However, Jackson stayed calm. “I trust you can handle it, Victoria. And even if you can’t, no one’s taking your head while I’m around.”

‘Absolutely. I never fight a battle I can’t win,” Victoria said as she pulled a sachet from her bag and pressed it into Jackson’s hands. “Keep this on you. No matter how wild those venomous creatures get, they won’t come near you. I’ll go take care of them now.”

Jackson took the sachet and nodded. “Alright.”

Victoria stepped off the stage, still holding a sachet. She wasn’t worried about Stephan and his crew. They all knew about her dealings with venomous creatures, and since they were always hanging around her herb garden, they made a habit of carrying anti–bite remedies.

As for Daisy and Hector, she’d already dusted their clothes with protective powder earlier.

Suddenly, she spotted Annie, who was shielding Helen.

Since Annie had always been decent to her, Victoria would protect her.

She hurried over to the Thornton family’s table.

“Xavier, protect your grandfather!”

“Felix, Pierre, make sure your grandfather stays safe!”

Thomas and Ryan both shouted at their sons at the same time.

For them, this was too good to be true.

With a golden opportunity to impress Gerry right in front of them, there was no way they’d let it slip by

Xavier immediately caught on. Quicker than Felix, he pushed his chair aside and stepped in front of Gerry.

Felix was a step behind, but he didn’t care. He stood right behind Xavier, thinking. If those snakes and scorpions really start attacking, there’s no way I’m risking my life just to impress Grandpa.‘

Snakes, scorpions, and all sorts of creepy crawlies were suddenly swarming in from who knows where, and the engagement party was turning into a total madhouse.

Gerry barked out, “Protect every single guest!”

Almost at the same time, Jackson shouted from the stage, “Everyone, stay calm! Head toward the stage and stick together!”

“Ollic, grab your team and keep the guests safe!”

With Jackson’s orders, Ollie ditched Cassian and rushed off with the bodyguards to keep the VIPs safe.

With Gerry’s command, all the bodyguards the Thornton family brought tonight moved in, organizing the guests and guiding them to safety in a perfectly orderly fashion.

“Here, take this. With it, those snakes and scorpions won’t even think about coming near you,” Victoria said, handing the sachet to Annie.

Annie blinked, not bothering to ask what the sachet was for. She accepted it gratefully and said, “Thanks! You’re a lifesaver.”

Victoria patted her shoulder lightly. “Could you grab me a leaf from one of those plants?”

Annie nodded without hesitation. “Sure thing!” She slipped the sachet into her pocket and dashed over to the potted plants to pick a leaf for Victoria.

Gerry looked at Victoria. “Victoria, do you have a way to handle these venomous creatures?”

Victoria nodded. “Yes.”

Even though the Thornton family’s bodyguards were doing everything right under Jackson’s orders and Ollie’s lead, things just happened too fast. Some guests still ended up getting bitten.

Over at the Binder family’s table, Hector immediately pulled Daisy into his arms. “Don’t be scared.”

Daisy nodded, leaning into Hector’s embrace. “Mm.”

She wasn’t scared at all.

Victoria had already warned her and Hector that tonight might get wild, and even dusted their clothes with protective powder just in case.

“What about Dad?” Daisy murmured.

Hector whispered, “Victoria’s sharp. If she got us ready, there’s no way she forgot about Dad.”

Sirena jumped up in a panic, reaching for her husband, but he was already out of reach.

Bater had ditched her and was making a beeline for safety..

“Bater, you damn bastard!” Sirena yelled, terror and rage tangled in her voice. But she didn’t have time to fight. She rushed

after him.

“Simon, Angelica, are you guys alright?” Julia shot up, frantic, just about to check on her son and adopted daughter, when a sudden scream cut through the chaos.

“Ah!” Angelica cried out.

She felt a stabbing pain in her ankle. When she glanced down, she saw a massive venomous scorpion clamped onto her.

“What happened?” Simon asked, his voice tight with worry.

“I… I got stung.” Angelica stammered, her eyes wide with fear and helplessness. Her lips, usually rosy, had gone ghostly pale from shock.

Simon’s face went white as a sheet. He followed her gaze and saw a massive venomous scorpion, easily the size of his hand, latched onto her bare ankle.

“Shit!” Simon blurted out.

Without a second thought, he grabbed a fork from the table, bent down, and frantically stabbed the scorpion off Angelica’s ankle. He threw it to the floor and stomped on it hard, crushing it into a messy smear.

Angelica clung to Simon’s arm, her eyes wet with tears as she sniffled, “Simon, what should we do? That scorpion’s got venom, right?”

Simon was speechless. ‘Cassian’s always screwing things up!‘

He tried to reassure her. “Don’t worry, Angelica. There are plenty of doctors here. Once these venomous creatures are under control, they’ll help you out right away!”

As Simon spoke, Angelica could already feel the pain from the sting starting to throb and crawl up her leg.

Am I really going to be okay?‘ Angelica wondered, her heart pounding with fear. ‘Cassian, you bastard! If I’d known he was his nuts, I never would’ve gotten involved with him!‘

Standing there, Cassian had already prepared his antidote, so he wasn’t worried about getting bitten at all. He calmly found a safe spot and watched the chaos unfold, feeling utterly delighted.

Finally, I managed to ruin Jackson and Victoria’s engagement party!‘ he thought, a smug grin spreading across his face.

Suddenly, a crisp, enchanting melody filled the room.

The music worked like magic, instantly silencing the chaos and noise all around.

The snakes and scorpions that had been wreaking havoc moments ago now acted like they’d been put under a spell. Each one became strangely docile.

They slipped out from under the tables as if marching in formation, vanishing from the party without a trace.

The guests glanced around, and spotted Victoria gently holding a bright green leaf between her slender fingers, raising it to her lips.

The beautiful, mesmerizing music was coming right from the leaf she was blowing on.

Victoria kept blowing on that ordinary leaf for about three minutes, and soon, all those creepy venomous creatures disappeared without a trace. The party returned to its peaceful state, as if nothing had happened.

“What just happened? Those snakes and scorpions all left the moment Victoria started playing that time on the leaf?”

“This is unreal!”

“Don’t tell me she actually called those snakes and scorpions here herself?”

Now that things were safe, everyone was still jittery as they whispered to each other.
