Julia chimed in, “Victoria, you’re just taking this chance to threaten her!”

Victoria raised an eyebrow. ‘Damn, she’s tougher than I thought. She’s betting I won’t let her die in front of everyone, afraid of being labeled heartless.”

‘I really don’t want to save you, but Simon’s the one asking me, right? I’m actually doing you a favor here,” Victoria shrugged.

Simon withdrew his gaze, then looked back at Victoria. “Yes, I’m begging you. Whatever you want, just say the word. I’ll go hrough hell and high water if I have to. Angelica’s already suffering so much. Why put her through more pain now?”

Victoria glanced at Simon with a sneer. “Brightstar Entertainment is already mine. There’s nothing you can offer me anymore.”

Simon was stunned. He pressed, “So you really won’t help Angelica?”

Victoria nodded. “Yeah, since you all think I’m threatening her, then I won’t bother anymore.”

‘Dad, are you really just going to stand there and watch Victoria let Angelica die?” Julia was forced to turn to Calvin for help.

Calvin gripped his cane, snorting coldly at Julia’s plea. “Did you listen when I told you to keep your mouth shut? You brought this mess on yourselves! Victoria’s been betrayed by you over and over. Of course she doesn’t want to help. I’m not about to beg for an adopted girl and risk upsetting my precious granddaughter!”

Victoria couldn’t be bothered to waste any more time on Angelica. After she finished treating the last poisoned guest, she put the leech back in its bottle and spoke to it, “Alright, you’ve had your fill. Time to rest up.”

The guests shivered again at the sight.

After putting away the leech bottle, Victoria turned to Jackson. “Jack, I’ve dealt with the poison. Your move now.”

Simon, fuming, yelled, “Victoria, Angelica’s still poisoned!”

Simon tried to charge forward, but Ollie and his men blocked his path. “This is the Thornton family’s place, Mr. Binder. You’d better keep your temper in check.”

Simon, seething with rage and nowhere to vent it, cursed, “Victoria, you’re downright venomous! Karma’s coming for you!”

“Mr. Thornton, Jackson, aren’t you worried about letting someone this cold-blooded into your family? Are you seriously going to let her marry into the Thornton family?”

‘She can be so indifferent to a living, breathing person, what makes you think she won’t do the same to you someday?”

But Gerry just let out a cold laugh. “Serves you right. Right at Victoria and Jack’s engagement party, you and your mom had the guts to insult her in front of everyone. Now who’s really cold-blooded and scary? Victoria would never treat me or Jack that way, because we actually treat her with respect.”

Seeing that Victoria was truly indifferent to whether she lived or died, Angelica finally started to panic. She kept coughing up blood, feeling her life slipping away with every breath.

Seeing the tide turn against him, Cassian grew frantic, his hands trembling as he pointed at Simon. “Simon, you’re the one who gave me those files and asked me to help you deal with Victoria!
