As Simon’s father, Darell was at a complete loss about how to deal with the crisis unfolding before him.
He understood just how dire things were. If they didn’t come up with a satisfying explanation, the Binder family could end up besieged by the families of the poisoned victims. They might even get hounded all the way to bankruptcy.
“Disgrace to the family, get on your knees!” Calvin’s deep, furious voice thundered through the room.
Simon, leaning on his cane, froze. After a moment’s hesitation, he finally knelt in humiliation under the gaze of the crowd.
He knew, unless he took the fall and made the poisoned guests happy, this disaster would never blow over.
Once Simon was on his knees, Calvin got up, walked over, and slammed his cane down hard on Simon’s back.
“You disgrace! How dare you pull something like this? I could let your trouble at home slide, but tonight is Victoria and Jackson’s engagement party, and you still can’t keep yourself in check!”
“Looks like I was way too soft on you before. You never learned your lesson, so you keep hurting Victoria over and over!”
Calvin kept scolding, his cane striking Simon without a shred of mercy.
Julia, standing behind them, was torn up inside. “Dad, please, stop hitting him.”
I don’t punish him, how will he ever learn?” Calvin showed no mercy, his cane raining down on Simon again and again.
lia tried to rush forward to stop him, but Darell held her back. “Dad has to do this, or there’s no way to settle this chaos!”
Julia could only stand there, tears welling up in her eyes. She was forced to watch her son get beaten, her heart aching unbearably.
After Simon’s back was covered in bloody welts, the seven poisoned guests finally spoke up. “Alright, Mr. Binder, we don’t want to see you beat your own grandson to death. But don’t think all that blood means we’re just going to let this slide. Simon teamed up with Cassian to stir up trouble and got us poisoned. This isn’t something you can just sweep under the rug.”
Just then, Jackson drawled, sounding completely unbothered. “I’ve got an idea.”
The poisoned guests perked up, curiosity written all over their faces. “What do you suggest, Jackson?”
Jackson took his sweet time, speaking lazily. “Simon’s been going after Vickie because he thinks she’s a threat to his the Binder family. If you really want to punish him, you gotta strike where it hurts the most. Make him, and his whole family, suffer in a way they absolutely can’t stand.”

“That’s what you mean, Jackson?” The poisoned guests quickly caught on and turned to Calvin. “Mr. Binder, if Victoria hadn’t saved us tonight, we wouldn’t have let your family off the hook so easily. To show our gratitude to her, we hope you can make it up to her somehow.”
Darell’s heart skipped a beat. ‘Seriously? Are they all just after our family’s assets now?‘
Calvin finally stopped, lowered his cane, and heaved a sigh. “I get it. If it weren’t for my granddaughter tonight, this whole mess would never have been settled. As the head of the Binder family, it’s only right I show my gratitude.”

after taking over, I’d give you the entire company. If not, I’d have you and Simon manage it together and compete. But now, it’s clear Simon doesn’t even deserve to compete with you.”
“So, I’ve decided to transfer all of Brightstar Entertainment’s shares to you.”
“That’s amazing!” Daisy covered her mouth in excitement, then turned to her husband, her eyes shining. “Victoria’s future is completely secure now!”
Hector felt a wave of relief. He’d been worried that Victoria would pour her heart into Brightstar Entertainment, only to end up doing all the hard work for Simon.
After all, Calvin was still pretty old–fashioned. He’d always hoped his grandson would be the one to take over the family
business.
But now, that last worry was finally gone.
Victoria flashed a serene smile. “Thanks, Grandpa.”
Everyone thought the chaos had finally come to an end, but just when it seemed over, Calvin suddenly steeled himself. He took a deep breath and thundered, “I want all of you here to witness this! From this day forward, my grandson Simon will never inherit any part of the Binder family assets!”
Darell’s eyes went wide, disbelief and shock written all over his face. He blurted out, “Dad! Isn’t this punishment way too
harsh?”
Simon, still kneeling on the cold floor, his back stained red with blood, felt like he’d been struck by lightning when his grandfather said those words. Utter despair washed over him.
A metallic tang flooded his mouth, and he suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood. His body slumped backward, and he blacked out on the spot.
“Simon!” Julia’s face went pale with shock. She shoved Darell aside and rushed over, dropping to her knees and wrapping her arms around Simon, holding him tight.
Looking down at her son, who looked deathly pale, Julia was so anxious that tears could not stop welling up in her eyes. Her voice shaking, “Simon, what’s wrong? Don’t scare Mom!”
Darell was just as frantic. He scrambled over, knelt down, and anxiously checked Simon’s condition, his hands trembling with worry.
Victoria watched with icy indifference. “Don’t worry, Simon’s not dead. The emotional blow was just too much for him, so he blacked out.”
Julia let out a shaky breath of relief, but then shot Victoria a glare filled with pure loathing, her whole body shaking with barely contained rage. She didn’t say a word, but her eyes burned with hatred.
Victoria gave a mocking laugh. “What, Aunt Julia? Do you really hate me that much?”
Julia’s fingers clenched Simon’s clothes so tightly her, forcing herself to hold back her hatred.
Victoria sneered, “Simon brought this on himself. Blaming me is just pointless. But people like you never own up to your mistakes. You always have to pin the blame on someone else.”
The guests joined in, their voices dripping with scorn.
“Yeah, serves them right!”

Darell couldn’t take the snide remarks anymore. He turned to Julia and said, “Alright, go see how Angelica’s doing. Then take Simon and Angelica to the hospital together.”
Julia finally looked away, gently set Simon down, wiped her tears, and went over to check on Angelica.
“Alright, Mr. Binder, we’re satisfied with how you handled Simon. Victoria, Jackson, we’ll take our leave and let you get back to your engagement party.” With that, the seven poisoned guests led Cassian out of the venue, with Cassian looking like he’d lost all hope.
Watching his son get dragged away, Donald could only shut his eyes, feeling completely powerless. ‘Cassian’s done for now. Honestly, I’m lucky if I can even protect myself!
Victoria glanced over at Jackson, whose expression was impossible to read. “Cassian’s probably wishing he were dead right now. Jack, you’re not feeling sorry for him, are you?”
Jackson looked up at her and chuckled. “Not at all. Cassian’s got no place in my heart anymore. All the space in there belongs to you now.”
Victoria snorted with laughter. “Look at you, dropping sweet lines like it’s nothing.”
Just as they were laughing and chatting, Julia’s shocked voice rang out from nearby. “Doctor, what’s going on with Angelica’s face? Why is it so swollen?”
