When the topic of him being disqualified from inheriting the family fortune came up, Simon’s expression turned bitter and indignant. He simply couldn’t understand why his grandfather would go so far as to cut him off completely.
‘Maybe Mom’s right, Simon mused. ‘Grandpa really might be cursed or under some kind of spell.’
His expression turned grim. “Mom, you might be right. Either Victoria cursed Grandpa, or she’s got him under some kind of mind control, she knows all about medicine and is always treating his headaches. Maybe that’s when she did something to him.”
Julia found Simon’s reasoning pretty convincing. After all, the way Victoria had driven out all those venomous bugs and snakes tonight was downright freaky, almost supernatural. It was impossible not to suspect something was up.
Julia said anxiously, “If that’s really what’s happening, we need to put a stop to it right now. We can’t just let that brat run wild, or pretty soon, she’ll take over everything the Binder family owns.“.
As she spoke, a sudden realization hit her. “I bet Daisy and Hector are under her spell too. It probably happened when they went to Mullinran Village to pick her up. Otherwise, why would they dote on Victoria like they’ve lost their minds, and she’s not even their real daughter?”
Simon said seriously, “We need to get someone to examine Grandpa as soon as possible to figure out if he’s cursed or under some kind of spell. We have to wake him up before it’s too late.”
“But what if it isn’t Victoria? Grandpa might end up even more disappointed in us,” Julia said, her tone anxious.
Simon stopped caring about family ties the moment his grandfather abandoned him. “If it’s not her, then we’ll make sure everyone believes it was. Victoria has to take the blame, no matter what.”
Now that they had a way to deal with Victoria, Julia’s spirits lifted. “Tomorrow, I’ll go find someone. Simon, you take Angelica to the auction house and have that poison expert get rid of the leftover toxins in her body.”
“Got it,” Simon nodded.
Angelica kept quiet, pressing her hand to her face, her eyes smoldering with hatred. “This time, I’ll make sure Victoria is wiped off the face of the earth. She won’t even have a place to die.’
As Curtis lay in bed listening to Julia and Simon talk, he fought with everything he had to wake up and stop them. Please, don’t go after Victoria anymore. Angelica is the real danger here.‘
But no matter how hard he struggled, it was all in vain. He couldn’t open his eyes, couldn’t say a single word.
He could only pray in his heart that Veronica would get through safely, and that his family would soon see through Angelica’s true nature.

The next day, Victoria was having breakfast when she got a message from Annie.
[Morning, Victoria! Got any plans for today?]
Victoria was surprised by Annie’s initiative. She’d figured saving each other’s number would just mean another name gathering dust in her contacts, but Annie actually reached out to chat.
Victoria replied to her.

[I’m planning to check out the biggest auction house in Benwig City. Want to come along?]
When Annie saw Victoria’s reply, she shot up from her bed, hugging her phone and yelling excitedly.
Tid vouchers
“Oh my god! Oh my god! The legend actually invited me to the auction house! Is this some kind of god–tier perk?”
She quickly replied: [I’m in! Totally in! Where should I meet you?]
Victoria texted back in no time.
[Drop me your address and I’ll swing by to pick you up.]
“Oh my god! Oh my god! Victoria herself is coming to pick me up! This is like VIP treatment!”
After her little celebration, Annie sent Victoria her location and threw in a hype emoji for good measure.
Once she was sure Victoria wasn’t texting back, Annie finally put her phone down and jumped out of bed.
“Time to brush my teeth, wash my face, and do my makeup. I gotta look fabulous! No way am I embarrassing her!”

When Victoria put her phone down, Daisy grinned from across the table and teased, “Texting Jack again first thing in the morning, huh?”
Victoria chuckled. “Not Jack. It’s Annie.”
“Annie?” Daisy blinked in surprise. “You mean Helen’s daughter? The only girl in the Thornton family?”
Victoria nodded.
Daisy knew a thing or two about the Thornton family. Helen had always kept his distance from the family drama, staying” neutral. But now that her daughter was getting close to Victoria, maybe this meant they were finally choosing to support Jackson.
Honestly, that’s not a bad thing,‘ she thought to herself. ‘Jackson has just been stabbed in the back by his own brother, and his father is a mess at home, never helpful, often making things worse. Let alone helping, if he doesn’t drag Jackson down, that is a miracle. Jackson is ultimately still somewhat isolated and without strong backing in the family‘
‘No matter how clever Jackson is, he is still outnumbered. Once Victoria and Jackson get married, she is under fire too. Having another Thornton family member on their side gives Victoria an extra layer of security!
‘And there is one more thing…
Noticing the tears shimmering in Daisy’s eyes, Victoria put down her spoon and asked quickly, “Mom, what’s wrong?”
Daisy shook her head, a little embarrassed. “It’s nothing. I’m just so happy to see you not only about to get married, but also making new friends. I used to worry you wouldn’t fit in here. Besides, your uncle and aunt’s family have always tried to smear your name, making people who don’t know you turn against you and keep you from fitting in with high society.”
Victoria laughed, feeling a wave of warmth in her heart. Daisy was too worried about her, “Mom, this is just the beginning. I’m going to make even more friends in Benwig City.”
Daisy nodded. “Of course you will. You’re so amazing. You’ll definitely make even more friends in the future.”
After breakfast, Daisy asked, “Victoria, what are you up to today?”

Victoria’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Mom, did you forget about my bet with Julia? Of course I’m going to have Grandpa be the witness and make Julia get down on her knees and apologize to me. After that, I’m heading to the biggest auction house in Benwig City.”
At Silverwood Villa.
“M… Mr. Binder…”
Hearing the doorbell, the butler headed out to the gate. He spotted Victoria and Daisy, and to his surprise, Calvin and Milton were there too. He hurried to swing open the iron gate.
“Mr. Binder, what brings you here so early?” the butler asked.
Victoria gave the butler a cold smirk. “You were pretty disrespectful to me the other night. I told you I’d have you thrown our of the Binder household, and well, I’m here to make good on my promise.”
The butler was stunned for a moment, and when he saw Calvin didn’t say a word to contradict her, he started sweating bullets.
“Mr. Binder, I…” The butler started, trying to explain and beg for forgiveness.
But Calvin cut him off without a second thought. “Milton will settle your wages. You can leave now.”
The butler knew there was no room for negotiation. He didn’t waste his breath arguing, but as he left, he shot Victoria a bitter, resentful glare.
‘Just wait. Once Simon takes control of the Binder family fortune, he’ll definitely rehire me.’
He believed in Simon.
As they stepped into the villa’s grand hall, Julia, dressed to the nines and clutching a luxury handbag, was just coming down the stairs. The moment she spotted Calvin, Victoria, and Daisy, her gut told her something was definitely off.
“Dad, what are you doing here so early with Daisy and Victoria?” Julia asked, trying to play it cool, but her nerves were obvious.
“Where’s Sirena?” Calvin asked in a low, serious voice as he walked into the hall and settled onto the sofa.
