Julia, who was following behind, saw that Victoria and Daisy still hadn’t managed to get into the Clark family’s house. She immediately realized they’d been turned away.

Julia thought, Seriously? That little brat actually brought people over to bang drums and make a scene, all to try and force Sirena out?

She’s way out of her league. Honestly, why did I even bother coming to check on her? What a total waste of my time.

With that, Julia told the driver to turn around and leave. She didn’t care about Victoria’s mess anymore and let the Clark family deal with Victoria. She had more important things to do.

After Victoria screamed and Mara’s crew made a racket with drums and gongs, the Clark family’s butler finally came out again.

He covered his ears and shouted, Miss Binder, what’s all this about?

Victoria grabbed the megaphone and replied, Come on, isn’t it obvious? I’m here to see my aunt. You guys won’t open the door or let her out, so what else am I supposed to do?

The butler was speechless. Frowning, he shouted, Alright, Miss Binder, tell those people behind you to stop. I’ll take you

inside to see her.

Okay!Victoria waved her hand and called out, Stop!

The thunderous drumming and banging quickly ceased, and peace finally returned to the street.

The butler breathed a sigh of relief, dropped his hands from his ears, and swung the gate open. Miss Binder, come on in

Victoria turned to the performers and said, Alright, you guys can go get your money now.

The lion and dragon dancers finally took off.

Seeing this, Daisy, who had been waiting in the car, got out and walked over to Victoria.

Seeing Daisy there, the butler was taken aback and blurted out, Miss Binder grew up in the countryside and just returned to the Binder family, so I guess her actions make sense. But Mrs. Binder, you come from a prestigious background. Why are you getting caught up in this mess with her?

Daisy shot back, her expression poised, The Clark family is supposed to be one of the top families in Benwig City. Surely you know how to treat your guests. How can you leave visitors stranded outside for over half an hour with no explanation?

The butler was completely at a loss for words.

He thought, Mrs. Binder is famous for being calm and elegant in our circles, but right now she feels totally different. Since when did she get so sharptongued?

Daisy paid no mind to the butler and turned to Victoria, her tone suddenly gentle. Victoria, come on, let’s go find Sirena.

Victoria flashed a bright smile and nodded. Sure, Mom!

Once Daisy and Victoria entered, the butler shut the door behind them, then quickly led the way toward the main hall of the

mansion.

Three people were sitting on the sofa in the main hall.

An elderly woman with white hair, who was likely Miranda, sat alongside Sirena and her husband, Bater.

Victoria, aren’t you a pain!Bater grumbled, still in his pajamas, clearly just waking up. I was finally catching up on some sleep, and then all that crazy drumming outside woke me up. That was your doing, wasn’t it?

He was fuming just talking about it.

After leaving the Thornton family’s engagement party last night, he couldn’t take Sirena’s endless nagging, so instead of coming home, he hit up a nightclub. He didn’t get back until three in the morning, when the place finally closed.

When he got home, he was too wiped out to even make it to his room and just crashed on the sofa in the main hall. But then Sirena came downstairs after her niece called, and started in on him again, so he couldn’t get any rest.

Seeing that the butler had no intention of inviting them to sit, Victoria wasn’t going to let herself be snubbed. She walked right over to an empty sofa, sat down, and patted the seat next to her. Mom, come sit. Who knows how long we’ll be stuck here dealing with this.

If this had been before, Daisy would never have dreamed of sitting down without being asked. But after spending so much time with Victoria, she was less willing to tolerate meaningless slights.

Daisy walked over and took a seat.

Miranda frowned, casting Daisy a contemplative glance.

She thought, I get it if the Binder family’s newly returned girl acts out, but Daisy? When did she become so assertive, just taking a seat without even waiting to be invited!

Once she was settled, Victoria finally shot back at Bater. Yeah, I hired those people outside, but don’t blame me. If anyone’s at fault, it’s Aunt Sirena. She left me standing outside your place for over half an hour. What else was I supposed to do?

Miranda snorted. Oh, so you had no other choice? It’s only been half an hour and you’re already raising hell outside my house. If you’d waited any longer, were you planning to get the Clark family trending in the news?

Victoria flashed her a thumbsup. Smart as ever, Mrs. Clark! You nailed it. That was exactly my plan. If you guys kept the door shut and wouldn’t let me see Aunt Sirena, I was about to call the reporters.”

Miranda was so stunned she couldn’t even find the words.

Sirena glanced at Miranda, barely suppressing her urge to gloat.

After years of tiptoeing around Miranda in the Clark family, it was a rare sight to see someone actually leave her speechless.

Miranda steadied herself and said, I heard the whole story from Sirena. A couple days ago, you two made a bet that if my son could get Mr. Cooke to meet with her brother, you’d have to get down on your knees and apologize to her. If he couldn’t, she’d have to get down on her knees and apologize to you.

Victoria replied, Yeah, that’s exactly what happened. But who could’ve guessed she would just bail on the bet and sneak back to the Clark family’s place like nothing happened?

And you also actually chased her all the way to the Clark family mansion,Miranda sneered. Are you really dead set on making Sirena kneel and apologize to you?

Victoria nodded without hesitation. Exactly. Aunt Sirena absolutely has to kneel and apologize to me, no way around it.

She kept a smile on her face, but her words were sharp as a blade.

Miranda had seen a lot in her years, but never someone this bold right to her face.

She shot Daisy a look. Mrs. Binder, sure, you’re not her real mom, but you call her your daughter now. As her mother, you’re really just going to let her push her own aunt around like that?

If you make a bet, you gotta own up to it, plain and simple. Isn’t that right? And let’s not forget, it was Sirena who picked a fight with my daughter. If we don’t fight back, everyone will think they can walk all over our family, Daisy said, backing Victoria up without hesitation.

Sirena finally let out a sigh, exasperated. Alright, Victoria always takes things so seriously. She’s young, so whatever. But Daisy, she’s not even your real daughter, why are you taking it so seriously? And you actually followed her here to the Clark family’s place to stir things up?

Daisy hated hearing people say Victoria wasn’t her real daughter. She cut in firmly, Enough with that nonsense. Just kneel and apologize to Victoria.”

Sirena leaned back on the sofa, arms crossed, and scoffed. Forget it! I’m not kneeling and apologizing to her. What are you gonna do about it?

Miranda reminded Daisy again, Sirena is the second daugterinlaw of the Clark family. Forcing her to kneel and apologize to her own niece is a slap in the face to our family. I can excuse Victoria’s behavior since she’s new to Benwig City, but as the matriarch of the Binder family, if you know what’s good for you, you’ll take her and leave right now. The Clark family will let today’s commotion slide.
