Victoria finally stopped, with an awkward expression. “Your son stopped me from leaving. Now that you’ve spoken. Mrs. Clark, my mom and I will head out.”

She walked over to Daisy.

Daisy stood up and gave Miranda a polite smile. “Sorry for any inconvenience today. We’ll take our leave.”

“Mom…” Bater tried to speak again, his words slurred.

Before he could finish, Miranda cut him off. “Shut up! Look at you, beaten to a pulp. Do you think your face is made of steel or something?”

Bater opened his mouth, but swallowed his words. He could only glare fiercely at Victoria, thinking. There’s no way I’m letting that damn girl get away with this.’

Sirena felt a pang of bitterness again. No matter what she said, Bater never listened, but the moment Miranda spoke, he was as obedient as a lamb.

Victoria and Daisy had accomplished what they came for, so they left the Clark family in high spirits.

Arriving at the Binder residence, Victoria stayed in the car. “Daisy, I’m going to the biggest auction house in Benwig City. I won’t be heading back with you.”

After giving Sirena and Bater a slap in the face, it was time to teach Simon and Angelica a lesson, too.

“Okay.” Daisy nodded and pulled out a black card from her bag. “Your dad got this card for you. Take it. If you see anything you like at the auction, go ahead and bid for it.”

Victoria took the card, her smile bright as a flower. “Got it. Tell Dad I won’t hold back. If I see something good, I’m going to bid for it.”

Victoria wasn’t short on cash, but she knew Daisy and Hector loved to spoil her, so she was happy to spend their money without a second thought.

Anyway, she, Daisy, and Hector were one big happy family now.

Seeing how happy Victoria was, Daisy couldn’t help but smile, too. “Why be polite? Whatever your dad and I have, it’s all yours from now on. Alright, drive safe.”

Victoria nodded. “Got it, Daisy.”

After watching Victoria drive off, Daisy immediately pulled out her phone and called Hector, giving him a detailed account of what had happened at the Clark family.

Daisy said, “Hector, nothing serious happened to Victoria and me at the Clark family, but Victoria slapped Bater several times for my sake today.

“He’s definitely holding a grudge and will look for a chance to get back at her.”

She didn’t regret letting Victoria stir things up at the Clark family, but when it came to the risks that might follow, Daisy still hoped she and Hector could help Victoria shoulder some of the burden.

On the other end of the line, Hector’s voice was gentle. “I know what happened. Don’t worry. I’ll make sure Victoria stays

safe.”

Daisy said, “Okay.”

After hanging up, Hector put his phone away and pressed the button at the back of the neck of the robot standing before

him.

The robot had short hair and androgynous features, making it impossible to tell its gender.

With a beep, the button flashed red, and the robot opened its eyes. Its face was utterly blank, and its gaze empty and unfocused.

The robot fixed its gaze on Hector and spoke in a cold, emotionless voice, “Boss, what’s the mission? Please give your orders.”

Hector showed the robot a photo. “Remember, 001, your sole mission is to keep my daughter Victoria safe at all times, wherever she goes.”

The robot stared at the photo in Hector’s hand. It was a young woman in a dazzling evening gown, bold and confident.

The robot’s vacant eyes flickered for a moment, and then it spoke in a flat, businesslike tone, “Victoria’s appearance has been recorded.

“I will carry out the mission no matter what. I swear, Boss, your daughter will never be in danger.”

Robot 001 was Hector’s personal project, the result of more than twenty years of research.

That was also why Hector had no interest in running the Binder family business.

Annie wasn’t kidding about being fast. Three minutes after the call ended, she flew out the gate of the apartment complex and dashed over to Victoria’s car, panting hard.

“What’s got you so worked up?” Victoria burst out laughing at Annie’s frantic state.

Annie struggled to steady her breathing. “I can’t let you wait around for me.”
