Julia’s face was twisted with anger, her bright red fingernail stabbing right at Victoria’s nose. “Don’t play games with me! You totally poisoned Simon!” she snapped, practically shaking with rage.

Victoria just shrugged, her eyes wide and innocent. “If you don’t trust me, Aunt Julia, go ahead and call a doctor for Simon. Let’s see if he’s actually poisoned.”

Calvin’s expression darkened, his voice cold as ice. “Fine. Get a doctor to check Simon!”

Simon’s face twisted with discomfort. “Grandpa, it’s no use. The poison Victoria gave me is something really strange. No doctor could detect it.

Calvin’s face grew even colder. “If they can’t find it, then you’re not poisoned at all!”

Jackson, who was here today just to make things difficult for Darell’s family, chimed in, “Exactly, Mr. Binder. Sounds like they’re just making excuses to get themselves off the hook!”

Simon hurried to explain, “No, Grandpa, I really am poisoned. But whatever Victoria gave me is so strange. Doctors can’t find a trace of it. Still, the poison will kick in eventually, so…”

But as he spoke, Simon caught Victoria’s mocking smirk and instantly froze, so rattled he couldn’t finish his sentence.

He’d wanted to say that once the poison started showing symptoms, Calvin could see for himself they weren’t just making excuses. But after seeing Victoria’s taunting smile, he hesitated. Fear crept in. He had no clue what else Victoria might be planning.

But Victoria really did have a trick up her sleeve.

The poison she gave Simon was something she had full control over.

The poison came from Blackie’s saliva. As long as Blackie didn’t trigger it, the poison wouldn’t take effect on Simon.

“Why aren’t you finishing?” Calvin cut in impatiently, annoyed that Simon stopped halfway through his explanation.

Simon’s face was troubled. He clenched his fists helplessly, his hands trembling. His lips parted as if to speak, but in the end, he couldn’t get a single word out.

“No matter what excuses you come up with, there’s no way you can justify kidnapping Daisy to threaten Victoria!” Calvin was fuming. He raised his cane and slammed it down so hard that the floor seemed to tremble.

Seeing things spiraling, Julia quickly stepped in to calm him down. “Please, take it easy. Daisy came out of this unharmed, right?”

But Daisy’s mother, Thea, was livid. Her eyes burned with authority and fury. “Just because my daughter’s okay doesn’t mean we can sweep this under the rug! You kidnapped her, and today you owe us an explanation! If you don’t, don’t be surprised if we turn the tables and do the same to you. Only the punishment will be ten, maybe a hundred times harsher!”

Darell’s face was as pale as a sheet. He kept his mouth shut, just staring at Calvin, hoping his dad would stick up for him simply because he was his son.

Seeing the Fishers wouldn’t let it go, Julia hurriedly pointed at Darell’s reopened wound. “Look at Darell’s injury. His brother stabbed him last night. Isn’t that enough payback?”

Hector’s voice was cold as ice. “No, it’s not!”

If anyone dared to hurt his wife, he’d never let Darell off the hook.

Calvin stared at Darell, his face full of heartbreak and frustration. “Darell, ever since you brought Victoria back, you just keep screwing up–choosing an adopted daughter over your real family, mistake after mistake!”

When Angelica heard her name, her fingers curled tight as she tried to calm her nerves.

She’d come here expecting to see Victoria get crushed, but now the tables had turned, and it was she and her adoptive father and family, taking all the heat.

Thea, already losing patience, cut in, “Enough, Mr. Binder! Stop dragging this out! Just tell us how you are going to make this right?”

Calvin turned to Daisy. “Daisy, you tell us. What do you want to do with Darell?”

Daisy locked her eyes on Darell, her gaze sharp and merciless. “I want him to chop off one of his own fingers. Let him pay for sending people to kidnap me! And all the shares of Binder Medical Group must be handed over to Victoria. Only then will it even begin to make up for what they’ve done to her!”

That demand struck right at the heart. It was the ultimate punishment for Darell. Nothing could hit him harder than this.

Darell couldn’t handle the fact that his whole family was about to lose everything. He shouted, “No way! Dad, if you really agree to Daisy’s demand, you might as well just kill me!”

Calvin was shaking with rage. He roared, “If you’re so tough, then go ahead and die! Stop using your death to threaten me!”

Darell was so choked up he couldn’t get a word out, his throat feeling like it was stuffed with cotton. His face was ghostly pale, his lips trembling, his eyes filled with despair and unwillingness.

‘Fine, Daisy,” Calvin said, his voice cold and resolute. “I’ll hand over all my shares in Binder Medical Group, and every share of Brightstar Entertainment to Victoria, too.”

He was completely disappointed in Darell’s family.

It wasn’t just that they turned against their own blood; what really let him down was that, after deciding to make a move, hey still managed to fail so miserably.

If they were going to do it, they should’ve done it flawlessly, without leaving a trace for him to find out. He could’ve forced himself to look the other way.

But now, not only did they fail, they made things even worse.

After everything that happened, Calvin knew for sure that Darell and his two grandsons just weren’t the ones to carry the Binder family into the future.

So Calvin was absolutely determined. He would hand over the entire Binder family to his granddaughter, Victoria.

He knew Victoria was smart, talented, and ruthless when she needed to be. Compared to Simon and Curtis, she was the one who truly deserved to take over the Binder family business..

Just then, Victoria pulled a dull–looking knife from her pocket and tossed it down next to Darell. “Uncle Darell,” she said sweetly, “why don’t you use this to chop off your own finger and apologize to my mom?”

It was obvious she’d planned this all along. Jackson couldn’t help but chuckle.

Annie stared at the dull, chipped knife and swallowed hard. ‘Man, Victoria is a total devil!‘ she thought.

Thea let out a cold laugh. “Not willing to do it yourself? No problem. We’ll do it for you. But if we do, it won’t just be one finger. You’ll lose a lot more

“As Daisy’s eldest brother, I’ll cut off one of his fingers myself?”

“The middle finger’s mine”

“I’m in! I’ll take his index finger!*

Daisy’s five brothers all spoke up, their voices full of fury.

Julia looked at Calvin, her voice shaky with panic. “Dad, are you really going to be this cruel to Darell?”

Simon pleaded, “Grandpa, my poisoning doesn’t matter, but please don’t make Dad chop off his finger.”

But Angelica didn’t dare speak up for Darell. She was afraid that if she said anything, she’d just end up getting herself in

trouble.

Calvin said coldly, “You made this mess yourselves. My hands are tied. There’s nothing I can do for you.”
