While the massage was on, Victoria slipped into the side room to get some rest. Greenie, seeing this, raised its head and tared right at Jackson’s face.

Too bad Greenie couldn’t talk. If it could, it would have told Jackson straight up that back when it was just with Victoria, all it had to do was laze around and act cute. But now, because of him, it actually had to work.

Greenie froze for a moment, then quickly turned its head away, refusing to look at this human, grumbling inwardly.

No wonder Victoria likes him. That smile’s got something going for it!‘ Greenie muttered to itself. ‘I just glanced at him, and ny head’s spinning now!‘

No wonder Victoria can’t handle him; she’s exposed to that killer smile every single day!‘ Greenie thought, a bit exasperated.

An hour later, Victoria got up from her rest and stepped out of the side room. She saw Greenie lounging lazily on the couch, and Whitey was just wandering around the office.

‘Let’s go, Victoria called out. Whitey quickly slid down from the air conditioner, while Greenie got up lazily and leisurely slithered into the bag.

Victoria picked up her bag and said to Jackson, “I’m heading to the office.”

“What do you want for lunch tomorrow?” Jackson asked, looking up from his computer at his desk

Victoria replied, “Anything’s fine, I’m not picky.”

Back at Brightstar Entertainment, Victoria was just about to push open the glass door when she overheard people from all over the office talking.

“Did you guys receive that email?”

“You got it too?”

“Yeah! Galewind Entertainment offered me twice the salary to go over.”

“Same here.”

“Wow so Galewind Entertainment is trying to poach all of us? Is this a kind of scam or what? Why would they target everyone here?”

“Haven’t you heard? Apparently, our Ms. Binder ticked off the Clark family, the biggest players in Benwig City. Now they’re making Brightstar Entertainment their first target.”

“So if they really go after our company, aren’t we all out of a job?”

“Looks like it.”

“Looks like the Clark family is really going all out to get back at Ms. Binder. They’re trying to poach everyone in the company!”

“So what are we supposed to do? Are you guys thinking about jumping ship? Galewind Entertainment’s been around for a long time. They wouldn’t set us up, right?”

As soon as that question was thrown out, everyone fell silent. After a long pause, someone finally spoke up. “You really think this big company is doing charity work, handing out those crazy salaries?

“It’s just trying to lure us over, and once it’s wrecked Brightstar Entertainment, it’ll dump us as soon as we’re no longer useful. That’d not be worth it at all.”

“Yeah, but it’s still better than sticking around here and waiting to be laid off when the company goes under. At least over there, we can make some quick cash, and if we do well, maybe we’ll get to stay.”

“Anyway, I’m switching jobs. This morning’s meeting, Ms. Binder was merely selling dreams. No way she’s got the real skills. You guys do whatever you want.”

Everyone fell silent again. “Ms. Binder, why are you standing here?” Tracy called out.

The employees instantly tensed up. Everyone suddenly buried themselves in their screens, typing away as if nothing happened. ‘Did she hear everything we just said?‘ they wondered.

But those who had already planned to leave just figured it didn’t matter. ‘Whatever, we’re leaving anyway, they thought.

Victoria smiled. “Nothing; just overheard a bit of office gossip.” Tracy was taken aback.

Victoria walked in and glanced around at everyone. “If you’re thinking about leaving, just hand your resignation to Tracy today, she said.

She didn’t say anything else and went straight back to her room. That was when Tracy realized many people in the office looked pretty uneasy

Luis from the Public Relations Department asked again, “What about you, Tracy?”

Tracy replied, “I’m not resigning. If Galewind Entertainment is using such a loss–making tactic to mess with Brightstar Entertainment, I probably won’t get any of the benefits they’re promising. At least here, I know what I’m getting, so I’ll stay.”

The Turner family was rich and influential, equivalent to the Binder family. Her fans had attributed Lexis’s engagement to he top–tier Clark family, to her personal charm that had caught Nathan’s eye.

Lexis, like Angelica, had been nominated for Benwig City’s most talented lady. But in the end, she lost out to Angelica by a ew votes, making her the runner–up in the city.

Victoria smiled. With all this unfolding, she could guess the Clark family’s next move. She figured soon the internet would explode with news that Lexi had been handpicked by Viara, the author of “Chasing the Dream,” to play the lead role of Bianca.

And once that news hit, Galewind Entertainment’s stock would soar.
