The live stream chat was blowing up.
[Nathan’s face is so dark right now. Jackson is totally bringing up the stuff nobody wants to talk about on purpose!]
[No wonder he’s the golden boy of the capital. If it were anyone else, who would dare get right in Nathan’s face and drop the big moves like that?]
[Why do I kind of ship them?]
[Come on, both of them have fiancées!]
[Seriously, shipping everything is gonna get you burned sooner or later!]
Noticing the knowing glances from the crowd, Nathan’s face darkened with annoyance. He finally said. “Jackson, could you not say stuff that’ll get people talking? We’re in public here.”
Jackson just grinned, totally unfazed. “My bad, I thought you were into Cassian. Looks like I read that wrong. Anyway, if you ever want to meet anyone from the Thornton family, just give me a heads–up. No need to go all secretive, sending people to snatch them.”
Nathan was speechless.
Man, I really can’t stand how Jackson always sounds so chill, but somehow manages to get under my skin every damn time,” Nathan thought.
Jackson was just born to push my buttons, Nathan fumed.
Damn, Jackson’s really dropping some hints here. ‘Snatch them‘? So Nathan’s not just into guys, he’s got a whole kidnap kink going on too?]
Nathan’s totally getting owned in this roast battle!]
Jackson’s the ultimate smiling assassin in the scene. He’ll cut you down with a grin, and you won’t even see it coming!]
Refusing to be humiliated any further, Nathan shot a cold glance at Jackson’s legs and sneered, “I’m just worried your legs are useless, so I figured I shouldn’t bother you.”
Jackson didn’t even get annoyed at the jab about his legs. He just grinned and said, “Looks like your concern is wasted. Nathan. My legs aren’t going anywhere, so you’ll be stuck as the forever runner–up for life.
‘If you’re really that traumatized, maybe the whole Clark family should just move to Husmindare You guys can run wild over there, way more than you ever could here.
“But if you drag your feet, you might end up doing time with Bater, sharing prison meals together
Nathan’s eyes turned icy cold.
Justin looked embarrassed and said, “Jackson, you’re going too far. This is a public place Please watch your words
But Jackson just grinned, totally unapologetic. “Wasn’t Nathan the one who started picking on my legs first Ever since my accident, my dad said I might be a little messed up in the head, maybe even a bit twisted. He even went out of his way to find me a top–notch shrink from overseas to help me out.
“So. Nathan, your words just set me off. Maybe I got a bit dramatic just now, but I hope you, with your perfect limbs, won’t

take it too hard
Otherwise. I might start thinking the more you care about something, the more you just have to bring it up
“Like, if you keep harping on my legs, it just makes me think you’ve been waiting for this. After being overshadowed by me for years, now that I’m down, you finally see your chance to stand tall.”
Justin looked furious but kept his mouth shut.
Nathan was burning with anger but totally at a loss for words.
[Oh my god! Jackson’s got that polished, trust fund vibe, but every word he says cuts deep!]
[And he’s so calm about it! You’d never guess he’s pissed off at all!]
[If you just looked at his face and didn’t hear what he was saying, you’d think he was just chatting about some random drama with his buddies!]
Nathan took a deep breath. “Jackson, if your legs ever get better, it’s all up to Victoria.”
He paused, then dropped his voice, cold and dangerous. “Too bad she might not even get the chance to finish what she started.”
In a flash, Jackson’s smile disappeared, his eyes blazing with murderous intent. “Someone like you? Not even close to being a threat to her.”
With that, Jackson didn’t spare Nathan another glance. He just signaled for Ollie to push him up to the second floor.
The second floor had open–style private rooms, all done up in a rustic country style.
Ollie wheeled Jackson right up to the door of the Rio Private Room they’d reserved ahead of time.
ust then, Annie’s cheerful voice rang out from the doorway of the Life Private Room next door. “Jackson!”
She waved enthusiastically at Jackson, then turned to her girlfriends and said, “I’m gonna go chat with Jackson for a bit.” With that, she walked over, leaned on the open windowsill of the Rio Private Room, and asked eagerly, “Jackson. I get that Victoria didn’t come as Brightstar Entertainment’s representative, but why isn’t she here with you either?”
ackson wheeled himself into the room, poured himself a cup of tea, took a sip, and smiled. “Victoria’s here. She just went ipstairs to get ready before coming down.”
Oh.” Annie nodded, instantly getting it.
Good, she showed up!‘ Annie thought.
Otherwise, Zachary, who made that bet with Victoria, would be blowing up the group chat, saying she chickened out because she was scared of Nathan and didn’t dare show up!‘ Annie thought.
Annie said. “Jackson, just so you know, all the other rooms are full of familiar faces.
“The Cooke family’s Oliver Cooke is here.
“The Thornton brothers, Felix and Pierre, are here too.
“And the Fairbank siblings. Sophie and Gavin, are here as well.

“Honestly, except for Oliver, everyone else is just here for the show. Everyone in Benwig City knows Victoria crossed the Clark family, and now they’re planning to go all out against the Binder family. So today’s battle for the rights to Chasing the Dream‘ is Nathan’s way of throwing down the gauntlet at Victoria.
“If Victoria didn’t show up today, she’d be the laughingstock of every rich family in the capital.
Jackson just gave a faint smile. “Kind of wild that with all this excitement, Xavier and Faye didn’t bother to show up.”
Annie chimed in, “Yeah, I heard after Faye disappeared for two days, she started having all these weird health problems. Every night she’s in agony, but the doctors are stumped. She’s still laid up in the hospital, so I guess crashing this party isn’t exactly on their to–do list.”
Jackson nodded in understanding. ‘So that’s it. Vickie’s poison is finally kicking in for Faye,‘ he thought.
In the Bountiful Private Room, Sophie shot a look at her dopey, sulking brother Gavin across the table. “Seriously, you begged me to bring you, so quit with the long face. Jackson’s already here, do you really think Victoria won’t show up?”
That snapped Gavin out of it. He sat up straight, eyes locked on the first floor, making sure he didn’t miss Victoria showing up for even a second.
Sure enough, it wasn’t long before Victoria showed up on the first floor.
Gavin’s eyes lit up, and he shot to his feet.
Sophie watched her brother’s reaction and thought, ‘Seriously, what a big dummy.”
“Victoria actually had the guts to show up,” Justin muttered, “she must’ve heard Jackson was here to back her up, so now she thinks she’s got some big shot backing her and can actually take us on. Does she really think Jackson, who’s barely keeping his head above water in the Thornton family, is gonna shell out a ton of cash for her?”
Nathan’s hand, which had been idly rubbing the ring on his thumb, suddenly paused. His gaze turned downright icy.
He let out a cold snort. “She doesn’t know her place.”
Suddenly, Victoria turned to Nathan. With everyone watching, she raised her hand and, with a cold, unflinching look, made a slashing gesture across her own throat.
Someone exclaimed, “What is she doing?!”
“Is she really provoking Nathan right in front of everyone?!” another chirped in.
“She’s got some serious guts! No one in the capital would dare challenge Nathan like this! Even Jackson only took subtle shots at him earlier!” another added.
